Fallout 1,2, and Tactics, Freespace 1&2, Castles 1&2, and other unforgettable Interplay games 50% off!

When a conversation between gamers comes down to listing the absolutely essential PC classics one can't simply imagine the gaming world without, inevitably Interplay games come up. Most PC gamers are dedicated Interplay fans, even if unknowingly. Even if by some strange twist of life you don't instantly recognize the label, it's an easy bet that looking at our this week's [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/interplay_weekend_promo_120413]Immortal Interplay Classics promo page you'll immediately notice at least two titles that will make you excited or nostalgic. The number of unforgettable titles in Interplay's offer here on GOG.com is simply astounding! Today, we bring you all of them with a 50% discount. Now, let's take a moment to talk about Fallout, shall we?

When it was first realesed in 1997, Fallout electrified the gaming community and proved that real depth and freedom of real-life pen-and-paper RPGs weren't that far out of reach of computer games as it was usually proclaimed. The post-nuclear wasteland became the number one destination for countless fans. The game was enormous, masterfully written, and extremely immersive. Making it even better seemed impossible. But then, in 1998, Fallout 2 came along and proved that perfection could still be improved. Larger gameworld provided even more freedom, and the variety of enemies, items, NPC, quests, and stories made it immortal. After all these years some people still stand by opinion that Fallout 2 is the best computer RPG ever created. Add Fallout Tactics on top of that, for those who think that the combat system was the best part of these games, and there you have it: the greatest classic Fallout offer possible!

But that's not all! Head out to our Immortal Interplay Classics promo page and grab yourself some of the best games ever made for the PC, 50% off on GOG.com. The offer lasts until Tuesday, April 16, at 3:59AM GMT.

As usual, below you'll find a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

Licurg: Everybody get Sacrifice, or else my curse be upon ye !
Got it.

Bloodygoodgames: Yep, an absolute rip-off are some of these inflated prices on games that are more than a decade old. Nope, won't be buying any :)
avatar
jamyskis: Indeed. In fact, many of these games are still available in retail at half their prices here if you're in Europe (and probably the US as well). I know you can get Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics together for under ten euros.
Same here in Thailand (and no, I don't mean bootlegs - they're even cheaper :)

I was actually at my local video game shop in Bangkok today and did notice the Fallout series selling together. If I remember correctly, it was 200 baht, which would work out at around $6.89 for all three games.

I already own the first game but, when I'm ready to buy the other two, looks like I'll be better off buying them in Bangkok. Sad.

And, no, I'm sure it's not GOG's fault but just Interplay greed

serpantino: Sorry but it is worth mentioning twice ;). Surprised at some of the price increases... I mean Messiah? That couldn't have been that great a seller in the first place.
Perhaps, but as has been said, they sell better at $9.99 with a 50% discount than at $5.99 with a 30% discount despite the latter being a lower final price. People often only look at how much they'll "save" rather than at how much it'll cost them. I don't agree with the practice, but apparently it works.

Question is whether the games are in Thai :) I don't think they bother localising all that many games in Thailand, do they? I know I've had to deal with Chinese, Japanese and Korean locas before, but never Thai...

demands you to have an excellent understanding of human resources. Hell, should have said "un-human"

JMich: Ok, let's see what this may be.
I thought (and hoped) it might be a slightly different style of management than just a standard RTS - maybe Floor 13 and they're getting unhuman mixed up with inhuman?
Hmm the Dungeon Keepers and Syndicates are already here - they would have been candidates if not
Don't know but will be disappointed if its just a cookie cutter RTS, as I say, maybe some kind of offbeat tycoon game?

They actually localize a lot of games in Thai surprisingly. Probably because Thais are obsessed with games and buy a lot :)

But they're always available in English as well.

And, as I can't read Thai and as my spoken Thai isn't as good as it should be considering I've lived here for 10 years, I only ever buy games in English anyway :)
Got all these games at the Pay what you want sale.
Funny about cheeky Interplay guys raising the prices thinking no one would notice. Most of $10 games still aren't worth $5

I've got this gift code for any any interested for Kingpin, Redneck Rampage and Fallout
N36R-5HBM-DH9D-RT23

Kingpin and Redneck suck ass though. Don't expect them to be any good.

LOL, so does Kingdom: The Far Reaches. Easily the worst game I own on GOG.

No, easily the worst game I own anywhere....
I like how it's called "Immortal Interplay Classics", yet Fallout has an expiry date coming up quickly.

Amazing... kidnapped Kingpin and Redneck! ;p
Kingpin was in my wishlist, Redneck I don't know....

Thank you!

I bought Redneck Rampage when it first came out and, although I have no interest in playing it again, from what I remember it was a pretty fun game.

EDIT: BTW, the soundtrack is excellent.

If some wee soul would gift me Fallout 2 and Giants, I will repay the favor on a promo or a $10 game the next time I have money. I just have exactly 2 dollars in my debit card. Help this insolent soul. :D
