Playing Sturmovik or Enemy Engaged series on keyboard is suprisnigly enjoyable and quite easy. I sterter that way myself. Promo also is weekend long only and as I aredy saw after previous ones, any games is promo only once so it's propably only chance to buy in this price for looong time...
Sturmovik 1946 for 7 bucks is almost like free :-). And difficulty level is so customizable that you can make it more like arcade sim. Also it's best and most complex of WW II planes sim.

I like Simulation games, I also like games with a steep learning curve and 100+ hotkeys. Flight sims, just mess my mind around too much, and I've never really been able to get into one until they trend into something more arcade-y.
I would like to though, so while I may not play it immediately, what's an easy game recommendation for a beginner? :)
Dammit!
Always the best of promos at the worst time.
Where am I going to find the time to put into all of these sims.
Great promo. I have all but one.... so now the collection is complete :)
Aye, only missing Hornet of those, may have to cave in and get the last one of the pack then :)
Could I ask, why aren't Descent games on sale as well? Those are flight sims as well, just in space...

A soccer/football game...Lords of the Realm 3...and now a flight sim sale.
=/ Not a very interesting week, IMO.
Been considering one of the Helicopter games for some time... Though my only previous experience with similar games would the original Commanche.
It's getting to the point where NO ONE who has ever claimed any interest in combat flight sims can pass up trying IL-2 at this point.
I have to ask, however, which of the said games features the two biplanes dueling in the sun as pictured? :-P
IL-2 vs. Dr.I 1917?
Apache vs. Fokker?
Comanche vs. Camel?
Poor Hornet driver would probably have to engage full flaps to engage a biplane... can't imagine the latter giving off enough of a radar or heat signature to take down otherwise.
There needs to be a good, new WW1 flight sim made... and not another over-arcadey one like we've seen on the consoles recently. Heck, I'd take a GOG release of a complete, patched up Red Baron 3-D....

Amazingly enough, there is a new one: Rise of Flight. Sadly the DRM is of the permanent-internet-connection-needed-to-play-even-for-single-player variety, so as much as I'd love to partake, I'm ignoring it for now. I'll definitely buy it after they do away with that nonsense (assuming they ever do).
There's also Fighter Squadron WW1, which is based on Parsoft's classic "Fighter Squadron: The Screamin' Demons Over Europe", and its 'OpenPlane' backbone.
Also "Over Flanders Field" which is a mod for Combat Flight Simulator 3.
And Red Baron 3D is still alive and kicking :)

dont worry abouth those complaining over sales or released games, Gog!
I love the fact that you will provide alternate games and offers so that some people can actually have an incentive to try out new stuff, or thing they remember from days of old.
As others have said before - one man's garbage is another man's golden nugget
