Good Game although hard to learn how to play - use the manuals to learn how to pilot the plane.
Not 100% stable on my system, graphical glitches in the game menus. (WinXP SP3, ATI Radeon 4870, Intel Pentium D 3.0 GHz CPU, 4GB RAM). Max Screen Res is only 1024 x 768 which sucks on any modern monitor.

on win7 (32bit) : no chance to get past the black screen at the start.
in wine : I get a revolving globe and the DI logo, and then it's stuck there.
Probably a good game if it ever start, but considering the forum articles and my own experience, I would say it's a "avoid at all cost" thing until GOG can get a version out that actually works.

Can't play it, have never been able to play it. Looking at your own plane causes the game to have unplayable levels of performance drop. Unfortunately, looking at your own plane includes, to a certain extent, looking at the instrument panel. Not only that, but this problem makes it completely impossible to use freelook to scan for threats. Your eyes must be glued forwards at all read more
times. Try flying a fighter without being able to look over your shoulder.
To sum up, the game is not properly ported to work on modern systems. Don't bother paying for it. It's a shame, too, because it looked like it had some promise - I love a good flight sim.
