Help Tex Murphy solve a murder case and win great prizes!

[url=http://www.gog.com/game/tesla_effect_a_tex_murphy_adventure]Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure (up for pre-orders now, for only $17.99!) is going to be great for many things, but what we enjoy about it the most is going back to the series best campy full-motion video traditions. The lost art of incorporating b-movie footage in-game is finally making a welcome comeback to modern game design. That calls for a celebration. And what better way is there to celebrate art, than to partake in a creative activity? Using the provided unused footage filmed for Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure (you can find the source video content here) create your own video that will give Tex a vital clue to solve a murder, and then email the link to contest@gog.com before <s>May 1</s> May 7, 11.00 AM GMT.

Of course, we couldn't deny ourselves the pleasure of creating our very own remix. Especially since we had our very own Nikola Tesla lookalike loitering around the office. Well, here it is, for what its worth. Maybe it will give you some incentive to do better than we did ;-)

The prizes include three Tesla Effect Swag Bags (Shot Glass, T-Shirt, Soundtrack and Buttons) and heaps of codes for all the classic Tex Murphy games on GOG.com for the runner-ups!

As per expected Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure release delay, the deadline for submissions is now pushed back to May 7.

Wow. Yep, that's the announcement-delay champion for sure. They definitely forgot about that one, too. And judging by the date (September 2013), it looks like that's another one to chalk up to MDyzzle's hasty & negligent departure.

That's unrelated to the reason for why this video contest is delayed, though they obviously need to conclude both.

Edit: Oh no. I now believe I know why this contest has yet to conclude. Out of respect, I'll keep it to myself for now, but hold on to your hats: this one might be a while longer.

With just a sliiiiiight delay (due to circumstanced almost entirely out of our control), here's the list of three main-prize winners:

1. RandomManA's very revealing act! It was hands down the best written and best executed video entry we've got. "Saggy little gremlin" :-D Ha! A classic!

2. jgew's amazing performance! You, sir, could have easily made it into the actual game with that hard-boilded gangster persona you pulled off ;-)

3. Flaose's impressive display of editing skills! We loved the pace and dynamics of this conversation. Hey, Big Finish Games, get this guy for your next title, just remember who featured him first, OK?

Sooooooooo..........any timeline on when these prizes might arrive? Or are we looking at another months-long delay? I won't be upset if it's the latter, but I would like to know.
