Here's your weekly Message From GOG!

Good news, everyone! It's Friday! And since it's Friday, here's a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

<iframe width="590" height="332" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Mk7VVJKzN0o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

By the way, we made a tiny-winy, itsy-bitsy mistake in the video. The screen featuring our Assorted April Games weekend promo has the discount rate wrong. It should say 50% off, not 85%. Sorry about that.

I honestly wished for a 85% discount....

mondo84: snip
I guess MP IPs scattered among many publishers (Atari, 2K) - so it will be hard to get confirmation about this particular game being new big publisher.

Lets wait for another week untill we will see publisher's name.

JMich: Ah, but he also said something about "should be released 6 months ago". So my first thought was Shadowrun, since it does take place in 2050, but no Shadowrun game is available for the PC (other than the MS title, and we don't have MS onboard yet).
The other game that does take place in 2050 though is Maelstrom by Codemasters.
That still doesn't explain why 6 months ago though, unless it has something to do with Perimeter.

I'm probably overthinking it though, much to G-Doc's delight ;)

haydenaurion: Yeah, the "6 months ago" part makes me second guess myself too.
Maybe a nod to "Hunt for Red October". Sound like Subwar 2050 to me.

amok: It will only be the sub-par DOS and not the superior Amiga version anyway....
But with a streak of luck with expansion disc included (Amiga guys did't get any?)

JMich: So you decided to go with different threads for the videos then. Let's see this week's hint.
I kind of like the separate threads for the "This Week..." videos and weekend promos. That way the two discussions (release hint vs. promo) are easier to follow.

Ah, very good! Forgot about that.

Good call! I think you guys are right. :)

there is no expansion disk...
I'm going with a title that I predict is going to be a huge miss.

Six months is a tease from TET, so they are talking about new publisher (and this will be Take Two).

2050 was the last year in the first Civilization to win with the spaceship.

So they will release Civilization next week.

I think it is Shadowrun. Since they are doing a new one called Shadowrun 2050 or something like that.

But there's only 1 Shadowrun for Windows at this point, and that is Microsoft's Shadowrun.
Unless the hint is for Shadowrun Returns, in which case I will be very very surprised.

Nope, can't see anything. There never was any expansions disk for Subwar 2050. It does not exist, I tell you.

Amiga guy ? :-P

As for Hunt for the Red October - 1987 game - not likely they will release sth THAT old here.
If Take Two with UFOs is on board - I will be...happy :-)

I think the oldest game on GOG is from 1980? Anyway, they did promise that the hint is for an actual classic release.
