Here's your weekly Message From GOG!

Good news, everyone! It's Friday! And since it's Friday, here's a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

By the way, we made a tiny-winy, itsy-bitsy mistake in the video. The screen featuring our Assorted April Games weekend promo has the discount rate wrong. It should say 50% off, not 85%. Sorry about that.

So you decided to go with different threads for the videos then. Let's see this week's hint.
2050? Hmm, something sci-fi, perhaps?
The only thing I come up with when searching 2050 on mobygames is this.
Subwar 2050?!

gimi gimi :-D

Krankor: Please please be Subwar 2050.
It will only be the sub-par DOS and not the superior Amiga version anyway....
Hahaha, I was watching this on a large monitor and in the dark and when the DYAD game promo came out, it was really trippy. I do wonder if the game is epilepsy-friendly. :P Another Pokemon Porygon episode in the making? *snicker*

BTW you guys, merge the threads again with the videos and the weekend promos. Really was easier to watch that way. I kinda think that you decided to do this since the big discounts might distract for the smaller discounts of the new games, but I really don't think that is happening.

Ah, but he also said something about "should be released 6 months ago". So my first thought was Shadowrun, since it does take place in 2050, but no Shadowrun game is available for the PC (other than the MS title, and we don't have MS onboard yet).
The other game that does take place in 2050 though is Maelstrom by Codemasters.
That still doesn't explain why 6 months ago though, unless it has something to do with Perimeter.

I'm probably overthinking it though, much to G-Doc's delight ;)
TET is teasing us with the 6 months ago hint again! :)

Maybe the 37 years / 2050 hint isn't referring to a specific game, but to the notion that it seemed like LucasArts wouldn't come to GOG for that long?

Eh, probably wishful thinking but next Thursday is May 2, and that could be the kickoff for the big slate of May classic releases they've told us about.

This is going to be interesting and exciting!

Who owns Microprose games now?

Yeah, the "6 months ago" part makes me second guess myself too.

According to wiki:
As of 2010, the MicroProse brand is currently owned by Cybergun Group, a manufacturer of airsoft gun products, giving them access to officially licensed weapons.

I think the game will serve as a handy tester in the case you are wondering wthether you have any seizure preconditions.

TET's commentary was great. :)

As for the hint - Shadowrun? Maelstrom? I'm not sure about the 6 months condition.
