One week of Early Access Beta and we have already the best community (yes, it's pretty subjective) on the web.
We want you to take a break from gaming for a second and encourage you to dive into the GOG.com community. We are really impressed how the community has evolved, and we would like to mention some of the best threads (in our opinion, of course). We're trying to post in forums but we also need to fulfill your expectations concerning GOG. You know, the beta is really a hard one ;). The links are listed below. Feel free to comment and propose your own favourite threads and discussions.

What about official Steam Community group :P
Really, to be honest, this is a great community from the point of a gamer, because (and I use the Fallout forums for an example) if we're running into an issue there are many other gamers who've either been there or have some knowledge in order to give some support. I suppose the only thing GoG.com should do is come up with a FAQ.
Or maybe we should hehehehe.
Anyway, despite the social parts of the forum, I think the technical parts are pretty great too. I know GoG can't really offer technical solutions to in-game stuff, it's really up to the developer, and the developer isn't working on these old titles anymore, so then it falls on the user to find their own fix, and this forum is perfect.

I'll give it to GoG.com administrators when they'll show up. Oh by the way I need a gog avatar.. right now there's a fallout cover. It fits but... not entirely you know :D

here. i made an avatar for you to use.
Echoing thoughts already shared here, but yes, focusing on the community is key to the success of this. We can buy games until we're blue in the face, but the staying power lies in the community and hand-in-hand, sales will be strong.
This site beats having to invade a bargain bin or eBay.
Old-gamers are usually people with some experience in online communities.
So it is nice - but not surprising at all - that our community here grew quickly and smoothly. :-)

You know, just because this site is here, and you're absolutely right, beats the pants off of bargain bin titles, it doesn't mean I'm going to stop raiding those suckers.

I feel the exact same way. After years of vain trolling in MMORPG forums (since UO's debut in 1997) I think I may be getting a little soft on the edges... :P

It's hard to resist the urge, I know. :)
This community has ballooned, it's already huge and we're only a week into the test.
It's weird, it's easy to feel lost already. I honestly don't know if that's a good thing.
Ahhh, so that's where it is. I swear I spent a while looking for the 'General' area yesterday. Now it is obvious I need to look a little closer.
