Wishbone: What, the blue plants? Granted, I haven't played the game for more than 20 minutes (I have the retail version, and it isn't happy with my 64bit Vista), but as I recall, they're mostly green, as in real life.

no, the cheesy hawaian shirt. You can select which color it is.

for 5 more $ on Steam you received together with Far Cry three more games - Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, IL2 sturmovnik 1946 and Beyond good and evil .... it broke my heart but I had to buy the Steam release.... better timing next time GOG

Dont you believe that Valve precisely timed that offer to undercut GOG? It ran the exact same time as the ubisoft titles joined GOG's catalog.

FPS is one of my favorite genres, but I could never get into Far Cry either.

hockeycanuck: There is one important thing people need to realize about release 1.4 of FarCry :
If you cannot get your mouse to work in game, you must return to the option menu and reset the controls to the default settings in order to make things work again. It was a known issue in 1.4
I already own this game however.

My brother had that happen to him repeatedly, but I never did. Evidently it only affects certain setups. That is good information to have available.

Yeah, this is true, but frankly I'd rather give my money to GOG. I know there's a deal to be had, but Far Cry and Beyond Good & Evil are the only two games from that pack I want anyhow... I already bought BG&E, and will be getting Far Cry shortly :)

anoffday: FPS is one of my favorite genres, but I could never get into Far Cry either.

I enjoyed playing it single-player, but multi-player with friends was what made this game great for me.

See, I played multiplayer, and it was fun with friends, but it wasn't as fun as other multiplayer FPS games I've played with the same group of people. Playing Halo with them was infinitely more fun.

Valve doesn't pick the sales/prices the developer does.

Far Cry is not on my personal "FPS top 5", but it is a really good one (though it get worse at the end of the game). If you haven't played it is well worth $10 (specially DRM free). But make sure you don't play in hard... is extremly hard.
