Is your body ready to waste away in front of your computer?

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, inXile's epic post-apocalyptic RPG is here! The masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com, for $59.99*.

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other cRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style. Now, the legend is back, resurrected by the power of thousands of gamers' combined will to visit the grim and dangerous, yet strangely mesmerizing future once again. Today, we celebrate nonlinearity, mature storytelling, and other best traditions of computer RPG design. Brian Fargo and his inXile team opens the doors to the post-apocalyptic future: let's challenge its many dangers, together!

On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale. *$59.99 is the regular price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package"). If you only want to dip your feet before taking the plunge, there's a Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition available (US price: $39.99), and it can be upgraded to Deluxe Edition later.

JudasIscariot: Older Fallouts :)

Isometric perspective, turn-based combat :)
avatar
liquidsnakehpks: ah i wish it was like the newer fallouts was not able to get into the older fallouts easily compared to the newer ones
thanks for the info.
One of the reasons, from what I heard at least, that WL2 was funded the way it was is because people wanted a game that wasn't Fallout 3 :)

Trilarion: When on the gamecard I click on the prelast screenshot, the thumbnail gets grayed out a bit and flickers on my Firefox. Why does it do it?
Known issue, in progress. Don't know why that happens mnyself :)

I finished Fallout 1 & 2 last year, one of the hardest parts of learning the game was the controls and UI, which required you to really dig into the manual. Wasteland 2 has stuff like mouse-overs and proper rebindable keys that makes these non-issues. That said, you may wish to wait for a sale if you're unsure given the high price.

Bethesda ruins everything, as I'm sure you're aware of :)

For free? Aww, you shouldn't have.
The API seems to still be borked. Which is annoying as I need lgogdownloader to download the game as the Linux version is a single 11gb file.

I'm not sure how much confidence I have in downloading a file that large without the ability to restart the download or fix any errors that might be present. All in all, the roll out here could probably have been thought out a bit more.

JudasIscariot: We don't offer Steam keys. Ever :)
Thanks for answer.

Ixamyakxim: LOL
Well, I wouldn't put it past trolls to give out false information, that is why I checked first. :P :P

Seriously I download everything from gog without any downloader and never had any issues with big files.

sweet , i really cant understand why i cant like the older fallouts , i tried both the gog versions and the steam one but the moment i started fallout 3 did not do anything else till the game ended.
Never mind. The DLC is an upgrade from the classic to the deluxe as far as I can tell. But, they shouldn't let people buy the upgrade when they have the DLC upgrade.

Unless I'm missing something else.

Probably because you played Fallout 1 where people could block you in doorways and not move EVER :D Or you had Ian shoot you in the back....like everyone else :D

Or they just might not be for you and that's OK :)

You don't have Centurylink. It'll lose the plot, but what's more, I don't like the fact that I have to leave my computer on for 6 hours without being able to reboot.

Then there's the issue of backing it up. The Windows version is split into smaller pieces that can be backed up to DVD if need be. This monstrous file is larger than a double layer DVD.

htown1980: Well… 9.8 gigs… won't be playing this for a little while...
avatar
lukaszthegreat: what's your ISP?

downloading it via downloader. works fine. hopefully the game is good. and inexile learned a lot for torment to be AMAZING.
iinet. and i have less than 10 gigs left this month… I might have to wait until I move out of my current place and back to my own place when I will have better internets...

Anywhere with free wifi over there, like a coffee shop or something?

probably, but I'll just wait. I'm playing through Deus Ex right now and that will probably take me a while to get through and the weather here is picking up (32 degrees celsius tomorrow) so I won't be playing games much anymore anyway. maybe I'll wait for winter to come back :)
avatar
gandalfnho: Finally the first game I backed in KS is released...
avatar
jalister: Same here. The second was Shadowrun Returns.
I remember backing WL2 when the campaign was already in the last week, and soon after SR: R (which was my second one)

avatar
Frozen: Lack of "Digital Classic Edition Upgrade" worries me too :(

avatar
Grargar: You mean, there is a third version on GOG? That's strange.
avatar
Frozen: Yep, it's backer-only version with manual and reference card only.
Said upgrade exists, is one of the 2 DLCs included in the deluxe version, maybe they don't turn it visible because the barebones version of WL2 is only available to backers...
This is one ridiculous price. Especially considering that they did crowdfunding and early access. This actually offends me as a consumer.

Will maybe buy it in a year or two after the base price has dropped by at least half AND there's a massive promo going on, not matter how good it seems and how much I'd love to play it.
