Fear is faceless.

Slender: The Arrival, a FPP horror game based on a modern urban legend that became so popular, that one might expect to find a bit of truth in it, is now available 25% off on GOG.com. That's only $7.49 for the first week!

That cold shard of glass stuck in your chest, sending chills around your body with every desparate breath you take--that's fear. That sudden dryness in your mouth, when you realize that the worst is about to and it's too late to do anything--that's fear. That hot rush causing you to sweat faster than you can even start to think rationally--that's fear. That feeling of spinning in your head as you stare down and see that it's a long way to go--that's fear. That impulse to scream and run when the light suddenly goes out at the flick of a switch--that's fear. That urge to lay down and curl up motionless at the sudden noise right behind you--that's fear. Fear--one of the humankind's eldest and closest companions. It helped us to survive when the wilderness was still untamed and the night wasn't yet torn apart with the flashes of electric lights. We've learned to overcome our terrors. We're being told that it's a good thing to face your fears. But how do you face one that is faceless?

Slender: The Arrival is a FPP survival horror game that continues the mythos of the Slender Man, an urban legend phenomenon. Made by the people who brought you the original Slender: The Eight Pages, the Marble Hornets web series, and the original propagator of Slender lore, this game takes the experience to a whole new level. It uses high-end graphics, intense gameplay, and unsettling soundtrack (included in MP3 format with this release) to make your heart race and your mind stop time after time. If you're looking for a game that will blast you out of your comfort zone - here it is.

There's nothing in the world that could possibly help you prepare yourself for Slender: The Arrival, now for only $7.49 on GOG.com. The offer lasts until Tuesday, April 16, at 10:59AM GMT.

haydenaurion: Is it just me or are the recommended graphics card specs a little high for a game like this?
I would expect this game to require quite a bit of shadows and light to make it effective. Doesn't that usually require a high GPU as well?
Wow great release! Wishlisted for later :D

Forgot about lighting and shadows, so I guess it is right.
Oh God. Does that mean we're going to see more LP videos on YouTube of people screaming into their monitors?

Don't forget the textures! Those many pretty textures!
As much as I love horror games, I will wait for a sale. Judging from the reviews, the game is very short yet very repetitive and the AI is sometimes unfair and frustrating...

Well, I wasn't expecting THIS on GOG. That's pretty neat.

EDIT: What's that other guy meant to be?

What's scary about it?

mrking58: Wouldn't these games sell better around Halloween?

JMich: You mean releasing them 6 months after their release date?
No, the publisher releasing the game in 6 months time
Is this any better than the original Slender game? (which I found frankly quite boring) Or is it just more of the same?
I'm afraid this game is neither good nor old.

It's running around the woods looking for pieces of paper and screaming like a little baby, very annoyingly, everytime your screen starts to shake a little.

That's what i saw on youtube the other day when three guys were livestreaming this game.
Will everyone stop with neither good or old thing.

Good or bad is matter of opinion.

And Old/New thing has already been done thousand times over...

GOG offers new games for some time now, and as long as those games are DRM free, they are sticking to their principles

Which means that a game released now will be ripe for a promo on Halloween?

Agreed. Getting really tired of the 'not old' argument as well.

After all, it doesn't take a rocket scientist (or maybe it does?) to figure out GOG wasn't making the money they needed to make from selling old games so they had to go in a new direction (ie: indie games) to be able to make the money and, thus, guarantee the website will have longevity for those of us who DO like classic games.

As long as they continue to offer classic games along with indies, I have no problems with it.

Don't like it, don't buy it. Why is that so difficult to understand for some people?
