The Milk Must Flow!

Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender, a side-scrolling shoot 'em up full of pixel-art pride, catchy chiptunes, and valiant cats in their meaowtactic submarines, is available for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

Cats don't like water. That's a well known fact. But also, cats love milk. It so happens, that the feline love for milk is a force more powerful than their aversion to hydrogen dioxide. Therefore, when the world finds itself at the brink of global milk shortage, the leaders of the cat commonwealth decide to tap the last known great source of the favorite delicacy: the milk deposits under the ocean floor. But for the milk mines to remain operational, the cats need to defend the prospectors from the many monsters living deep in the sea. Putting cats in submarines seems like a strange idea, right? Well, desperate times call for desperate measures!

Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender is a dynamic horizontally scrolling underwater shooter with cats, submarines and retrotastic aesthetics. In this smashing shoot 'em up great hand drawn pixel-art is combined with awesome chiptune audio clearly inspired by the great memories of the Amiga and C64 days. With optional 2 player local co-op, branching map progression, infinite play mode, depth based power-up system and more exciting arcade features, this title is almost as fun and cute as all the kitty photos of entire Internet combined!

The well-being of the entire catkind rests in your able paws, so give those sea-monsters hell in Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

HEALTH WARNING:
In real life, it's actually not a good idea to feed milk to your cat. Lactose intolerance is even more frequent with cats than with humans. Although kittens are able to tolerate milk, most adult cats cannot. Their digestive system cannot process dairy foods, and the result can be digestive upset with diarrhea.

pH7: What I don't get is how the milk at the bottom of the sea came into being; is that revealed in the game?
I'm thinking it could be Shub-Niggurath lactating. I better look into it myself (and also pick up Rune Classic while I'm at it).

Thespian*: Please, keep us updated on the Chulthonian conjecture. :D

(that could explain some devilish cat behavior) ;)
Will do, Thespian =)
It might take a while though, as my backlog has grown to the point where there's no significant statistical difference between it and my game collection. Also, I'm terrible at *any* game that has "fast paced" in its description. But, on the other hand I'm quite good at cheating in computer games (I'm their master after all - if the world is ever taken over by "the machines" they'd be doing it for me) so it might be that I'll get to the bottom of this - and back up to the surface again, preferably not because of, um, post-mortem bloating.
Wishted for meow.
How is it no one has posted these yet? :D

RedRagan: Saw the gameplay and it reminds me of an old game but I don't remember what. Like the style though. Also cats, lots of CATS!
It looks like a cute-em-up version of Defender. Which I don't mind at all :)
looks cool.
What software did they use to develop the game?

SpiderFighter: [...]

I'll wait to hear from others how deep the gameplay is.
avatar
G-Doc: I'd say it's very deep. Only a tad above the seabed level.

***Badum-pshhh!***
Did you - did- just - why? For the love of all that is good in this world, WHY???

Dude...seriously, that was just (cl)awful. I mean purrrfectly (p)awful. No more of those, please. Seriously. I'm not kitten around with mew.

I'ma try to think pawsitive thoughts now, beclaws that kinda freaked meowt.

The makers of this game must really like pussy .
This game better recognize my controller, the first review (that made it trhough the review glitch/bug deletion thing) states it not recognizing the controller.

Luckly I have xpadder and several controllers... this usually solves that issue for me on previous games.

I'd say the sequel could be called Octopussy, but Bond beat them to it ;)

Looks like fun. Wishlisted for meow...

Thanks, gOg, for the new dev / publisher. Keep 'em coming to the DRM-free wonderland!
At first glance I wasn't much interested, but then I saw a magical word "co - op" . Is this _on-line_ or local co-op? I am only interested in the former...
And btw, any other games like this supporting online Co-op?

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. I see now that it's local co-op. that's a shame :(

GOG.com: The Milk Must Flow!
Having a lot of fun with this game. Sadly I got a bug and my positive review didn't show up on the site. Now it only has the whiney reviews, though it deserves better :(

Cats really shouldn't drink milk, and many (if not most) cats are lactose intolerant.

Why U spread propaganda, GOG? :(
I'll be back Tues. or Thurs. when Entomorph arrives. :P
