The Milk Must Flow!

Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender, a side-scrolling shoot 'em up full of pixel-art pride, catchy chiptunes, and valiant cats in their meaowtactic submarines, is available for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

Cats don't like water. That's a well known fact. But also, cats love milk. It so happens, that the feline love for milk is a force more powerful than their aversion to hydrogen dioxide. Therefore, when the world finds itself at the brink of global milk shortage, the leaders of the cat commonwealth decide to tap the last known great source of the favorite delicacy: the milk deposits under the ocean floor. But for the milk mines to remain operational, the cats need to defend the prospectors from the many monsters living deep in the sea. Putting cats in submarines seems like a strange idea, right? Well, desperate times call for desperate measures!

Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender is a dynamic horizontally scrolling underwater shooter with cats, submarines and retrotastic aesthetics. In this smashing shoot 'em up great hand drawn pixel-art is combined with awesome chiptune audio clearly inspired by the great memories of the Amiga and C64 days. With optional 2 player local co-op, branching map progression, infinite play mode, depth based power-up system and more exciting arcade features, this title is almost as fun and cute as all the kitty photos of entire Internet combined!

The well-being of the entire catkind rests in your able paws, so give those sea-monsters hell in Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

HEALTH WARNING:
In real life, it's actually not a good idea to feed milk to your cat. Lactose intolerance is even more frequent with cats than with humans. Although kittens are able to tolerate milk, most adult cats cannot. Their digestive system cannot process dairy foods, and the result can be digestive upset with diarrhea.
Seems to take inspiration from Defender.
Excellent scores on this one, but it feels too much like Jaws for me to pull the trigger on release day. *shudders at the memory of $45 wasted*

I'll wait to hear from others how deep the gameplay is.
What I don't get is how the milk at the bottom of the sea came into being; is that revealed in the game?
I'm thinking it could be Shub-Niggurath lactating. I better look into it myself (and also pick up Rune Classic while I'm at it).

Please, keep us updated on the Chulthonian conjecture. :D

(that could explain some devilish cat behavior) ;)

GOG.com: Fast paced horizontally scrolling retro underwater shooter with cats in submarines!
Congratulations! This line sold me the game.
Lol, internet is made to contain only two things, one of them is cats :D
I question why, though, this game and Humans Must Answer contain only samples of their awesome soundtracks.

I'd say it's very deep. Only a tad above the seabed level.

***Badum-pshhh!***

It does indeed look very Amiga-y, which is a strong selling point for me. Art style is somewhat reminiscent of Treasure Trap, while gameplay appears a bit James Pond-ish. I'd buy it right now if not for my previous misfortune with GOG Day One purchases. But since it's not discounted, I can wishlist it without missing a deal.
Question:
Do we get Steam keys when this get greenlighted?

So it's The Hunt for Red October, with a cat?
