xmorg: Yea, I already bought some humble indie bundles, with Avalon or some kind of Rpg in it.

Leroux: I think Avadon The Black Fortress requires a resolution that's higher than most netbooks can handle, but I might be mistaken.
It requires only 1024 X 600, so OP is safe on that account :D

Psyringe: For TBS: Alpha Centauri, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Master of Orion 1+2, Master of Magic. All these games run on low/old hardware.

hedwards: I doubt that Alpha Centauri is going to run well on Atom hardware. Atom is just incredibly weak compared with pretty much anything else I can think of at a similar clock speed.

Trying to run it on my 1.6ghz APU would be pushing it, let alone trying it with an Atom that isn't a lot faster.
I tested Alpha Centauri on my own netbook ( 1.56 Ghz N450 Intel Atom, 1 GB RAM, Win7 Ultimate 32-bit) and the game ran quite well for me. YMMV, of course.

Leroux: Oh. I thought I had tried it and it didn't work on the netbook, but maybe my memory is playing tricks on me (or I only tried with the GamersGate version which is not to be recommended because for some reason their SecuRom wrapper slows the game down).

I'm going to try again, thanks! :)
Some proof :D
