Any suggestions? I'm looking for stuff to pick up during the Steam winter/fall sales.
Crimzon Clover.

I also liked 1001 Spikes and Castle Crashers (although I played the Xbox Live version too).

Edit: Oh, you said weird. Well, I got nothing.

Genre?

Hard Reset, Braid, Limbo, The Stanley parable among others are on sale.

EDIT: You mean you want specifically weird games?

What about "Cthulhu saves the world"?

Preferred genre: impossible to fit into a genre.

Or, point and click adventures, exploration games, "walking simulators," and FPSs.

I'm looking specifically for games that most people will despise, and a certain faction of people will adore.

That's hard... Eufloria maybe? It's certainly non-conventional but I don't see many hating it.
How about Our Darker Purpose?
I've been eyeing it, thoughI doubt it'll see a deal until the winter sale, if then.

Darkout has a decent discount right now.
Dead Bits is 90% off if you want to gamble 50 cents.

Picked up prison architect last night for a bargainprice - quite funny.
Have also seen gnomoria on sale - really worth it if the base genre is your thing and you can commit to a few failed settlements
What about dinner date. It's about a guy that's waiting for a girl for a dinner date. But she is late.

From my list:

- Cargo Commander: I just loved this game, from the repetitive music that plays at "home" to the sad letters that appears, it's hard to say, the gameplay is in the veins of a roguelike but way more simple and somehow it has a deep meaning;

- Finding Teddy: It's perhaps the nicest surprise that i had from a indie bundle, it's a bit simplistic but it's one of those that will leave you with a smile all game;

- Ittle Dew: It's really a good Zelda clone with that tongue and cheek humor;

- Little Inferno: The gameplay is simple and yet addictive, you have to burn items, get money, buy new items and burn again. I know, it's dumb but it's addictive, there's a somewhat puzzle element to it since you have to burn some items together so that you can unlock more stuff. My only problem with the game is that it's too long so it gets a little boring towards the end;

- Capsized: A bit weird but also somewhat enjoyable 2D plataformer/shooter with some physics puzzles, not must have but it might interest you;

Games that i have yet to pass or on my wishlist:

- Consortium;
- Master Reboot;
- The Novelist;
- Betrayer;
- Wrack;
- The Detail.

I kind of pick around what you were asking, i could recommend other games if you want more genres.

Have it actually - though I was annoyed with the always online thing, and the terrible performance when i got it. the last update made it run smoother, but still always online. not seen another update yet sadly.
otherwise worth a look!

Need to dig that out again soon - great cold winter game.

Cyraxpt: - Consortium;
be warned - not very well optimised for certain cards. developers also consider the term "not supported" to mean "will not ever work and we dont care, but wont actually tell you that on the game page"

got it in the Be Mine bundle a while back - managed to run it beyond the main menu once. tried it on my mates (relatively powerful rig), same deal.

Edit: uless the devs of consortium sort it out, i'd say dont give em yer dosh unless its bundled for charity
