We bet you didn't see that coming. Today we're releasing the "sequel" to the acclaimed RTS franchise Total Annihilation. For the price of only $5.99 that's a steal!

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/total_annihilation_kingdoms]Total Annihilation: Kingdoms is a real-time strategy that developed many features of its predecessor. The game is neither a sequel nor prequel to the original Total Annihilation, but a spin-off that took players from the futuristic setting from the first part into a world of fantasy. Aside from the different setting than in the original, other changes include a simpler resource management which allows you to focus more on the massive battles, and four different factions (instead of two) with distinct units' characteristics. Our version of the game also includes "The Iron Plague" expansion which adds one more kingdom and hundreds of new maps to play on. Forget about lunch today and spend this spare cash on this game and you won't regret it.
I loved the dynamic of the four different races (five in the Iron Plague). Many hours spent in multiplayer with this one. The TA series is really the only RTS series I buy on sight.
So it does! Well that puts it right at the top of the list then! :)
Wishlisted for next promo...
Really happy to see this game released! Bought it immediately!

We really need more resource gathering, base building RTS's released, there aren't that many.

Can't wait for the KKnD series! I really hope it is released here soon!

I've noticed that, too; for their immense popularity and being considered "cliche" by today's standards, there indeed aren't many "basic base-building RTS games" here. Not that other strategy games aren't good, but we should have more of these.
"Hate" is a strong word, so I'll just say that back when I bought this for $20 when it was a year old or so, I thought I'd wasted every penny.

The story and setting is utterly generic, the gameplay was boring, and I couldn't see a point to continuing playing it for more than an hour or two.

Man thats crazy. When i got TA:K back in the day i absolutely loved it, it was TA with elves and dragons. Honestly i love both TA and TA:K and both games sit up there along with the first C&C as my all time favorite games.
I have to agree. In "Todays" standards It will seem dry and generic. But back THEN when it just was C&C RA and Warcraft 1 and 2. This game DID add elements the other RTS didnt have and it was VERY fun. Battles were cool etc. Im happy I have a digital version to go along with my CD copy. Not to mention I have the orig strat guides too lol.

cp96alumni: But if we are talking Westwood, than we need Lands of Lore as well.
Oh man, I'd be all over a Lands of Lore release on GOG. I loved Throne of Chaos.
