The portals connecting the shattered islands of Eo start to collapse. The whole world is in panic and despair.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/spellforce_2_dragon_storm]Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm is a refreshing “RPG meets Fantasy Strategy” combo, in which the RPG elements just enrich the awesome RTS experience. The GOG.com version of Dragon Storm is a stand-alone expansion to the second part of the game.

Chaos reigns over the mythical land of Eo and the Shaikans investigate the problem. Upon closer inspection they reveal ancient ruins of the long forgotten first race to walk the plains of Eo: the Shapers. Once the rulers of the world, the Shapers discovered the Essence of Magic, and the struggle to control the essence led to a civil war and the apparent extinction of their race. Shaikans awaken one of these ancients, the Creator, and now chaos spreads. The only ally the Shaikans can muster is the race that once saved Eo from the Shapers threat the Dragons, exiled long ago. This add-on expands the universe by adding the Sheikan faction, and also adds a new campaign, more loot, spells, and a complex crafting system. Revisit familiar grounds, meet friends from your past adventures in Eo (incl. The Soulbearer or Flink McWinter), and (of course) save the entire world from doom.
I'd be happy paying more for a DRM free version of a game just to make the point that the people really inconvenienced by DRM are us honest folks.

And I'm pretty sure GOG themselves aren't making mega profits out of the current pricing.

Kabuto: Give me a break. The game + this expansion is $19.99 everywhere. Hell you even save a penny, get goodies and it's drm-free here. How in hell were they going to sell it for $9.99?
^^ This

Gamersgate - $19.95
Steam - $19.99
Impulse - Selling separately for $9.99 each (expansion is not standalone)

GOG's price is simply in line with their market and competition, just as they pretty much always have been.

overread: Ahh but we must remember when one deals at the budget market one always gets the scrimpers and the savers and the hagglers who will swear blind that their kids will starve to death unless you shave another £/$ off the price ;)
Yeah, there's that. And the interwebz would probably die off without a constant flow of drama, so i guess there's that too ;)

It's not just about the money (and to prove that I just bought both the Spellforce 2 games). What I've come to like about GOG is the bundling so that I feel like I have the complete product in one place.

One thing GOG always points to is the two pricing points only, but that statement is worthless if the product is divided into pieces.

Fair point. But if GOG is going to compromise on something, I'd rather it be the price than anything else.
To be honest, I don't understand you guys.
I'd really prefer GOG to sell games and expansions separately. Sometimes expansions introduced changes to the original game. And if they are sold as one download, sometimes it's not possible to play "vanila" game.

ps. And GOG never said they won't sell expansions as separate pack.

True, but I would rather have had GOG approach us and say "guys, we have a deal in the pipeline for which the $5 and $10 price points just aren't going to work. How about we introduce a $20 price point for more recent titles?"

Instead it feels like they're trying to push their marketing claim to the extreme limits.

Tsugirai: Rest can stay here and quit whining. GOG actually cares about customers. I am willing to pay some extra to them for that care.
^^
THIS.
Great release. Thanks GOG.
You can get the German Gold Edition of Spellforce 2 for 4,99 Euro from Amazon.de, see:

http://www.amazon.de/Koch-Media-GmbH-Spellforce-Gold/dp/B002VYKSJ6/

As far as I know this also comes without DRM or at last without the nasty StarForce used in Spellforce 2 at the beginning.

So at least for the German market this is massively overpriced here at gog.

Standalone expansions are fine for standalone purchases. Now if GOG starts offering standalone releases of expansions which require the original to work , that will be something different.

Crusader: No Regret - fair game
Righteous Fire - not so much

Nope, $29.95, essentially the same price as buying all three separately on GOG: http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-SFU/spellforce-universe-bundle

Regional pricing then. The UK site shows it at $24.

Not to mention that it is 5 pounds at Amazon UK.

Wouldn't that be roughly equal to the conversion from USD to GPB + VAT?

EDIT - Oh, you said $24, not £24. Must be regional pricing then.
