Last call! We're running out of Pots of Gold! ;-)

Heads up! Here's your last chance to take advantage of our special offer. Saint Patrick's Day has come and gone, but such a great holiday should be celebrated all week long. That's exactly what we did with our [url=http://www.gog.com/luckoftheirish]<span class="bold">Luck of The Irish</span> soon-to-end special build-your-own-bundle promo! For only 20 more hours you can pick 5 out of 25 remarkable games and create your very own dream bundle up to 90% off. Feeling lucky? Add a "Pot of Gold" to your selection! What's in the pot? Who knows? Maybe it's one of the games off your wishlist? Maybe it's one of the BIG titles? You can even select 5 pots at once to receive a special bundle built for you entirely by our relatively friendly GOG-Leprechauns!

This is your last call, as this fantastic offer will be available only until Friday, March 21, at 10:59AM GMT.

Don't miss out, and Sláinte!

GOG really needs to close those loopholes which let people 'reroll'..it spoils the spirit of the promo and honestly?. are people that desperate to roll for hours just to get one or two games they wanted?. that isnt luck dipping at all imho. my 2cents worth..

DyNaer: Honestly ?

The idea is badly executed : the games should have been displayed at the checkout page. I'm not fond of throwing money without knowing what i buy. Sure you can check the source code , but that could have been avoided. I don't really see the point to hide them at this point.

And re-roll defeat the purpose of the "Pot of Gold" (if you are able to get anything different...)

And secondly, games on sales should NEVER have been avaible through the "Pot of Gold".

my 2 cents.
Honestly?

The idea executed exactly the way it should be - it's like buying a lottery ticket. Are you buying the ones that say "Jackpot" or "waste of money" on them?

Re-roll really defeats the purpose, that's where I agree.

Secondly, games on sales should be available through "Pot of Gold". Why? Because since it's somewhat a lottery, everything should be available there. And once in a while there should be big games. Like, let's say, Banner Saga.
One little addition. In lottery you get money which you can turn into anything. Here you get games. Which, for me... Let's say I'm not THAT interested in what I get through those pots. More than that, from 8 Pots of Gold bought (before I've found out there's a way to see what you're going to get) I got these:

Penumbra
Mutant Blobs
Puddle
Aqua Kitty
iTTLE DEW
Giana Sisters Owlverlord
Zombie Shooter 2
Alien Shooter 1

The last three are of some interest and as far as I remember none of these has ever been in my wishlist.
So... maybe a little contacting with a persons wishlist wouldn't hurt, eh, gnomes?
As for execution - it's good. Really tempting... Until you find out how to see a games you're about to buy and that games are only a few which you don't actually want that much.
It's like a some sort of a contest with a car. You spend your time trying to win Aston Martin and ending up a winner but with a Daewoo Matiz. It's a decent car and still a car, which can give you fun and take you anywhere, but not exactly what you've been expecting while trying to beat the contest..
I hope the whole GOG team on monday is going to go down the local pub and get hammered on Guinness pints for patties.
Thanks to everyone who posted what they got in the pot of gold.

I managed to make an educated guess using the info here without rummaging through the client side or requests-replies with firebug:

Between the fact that I had all, but 3 of the games people posted (zombie Shooter 1&2 and Aqua Kitty) and that GOG made the order a mandatory gift whenever I had more than 3 pots, it wasn't hard to guess which games I'd be getting :P.

You compare this to a lottery; well ok for the comparaison , but since via the source code you can see what games are selected , this is definitly defeated . It was obvious from the start some users would try to see what games are selected and so try to re-roll.

Obviously not all games are in "the pot of gold".......-> http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_rainbows_end_pot_o_gold_list/page1 As you see the games avaible through 'the pots of gold''is quite small, unless GOG will change the avaible games through the course of the offer.

gamefood: I've made a request to the support concerning my pot of gold-problem, the answer wasn't satisfying for me :-( :

"Unfortunately because promo price is available only when 5 games are purchased together at once, it is not possible to exchange or receive a refund for selected titles from such order."

I'll never join such random-promo again, effectivly I've paid 10 bucks for only two games, really nice... It's not that the other three wouldn't interest me, no, two won't run on my machine and one I already have bought elsewhere. For what I've now 3 games on my shelf which I won't use? At least gifting them to others?

"No blah blah blah not possible"...

Thanks for nothing GOG-Support! :-(
Have you considered returning the whole pack of 5?
So for the first time ever on GOG, I feel like I wasted my money.

Spent $20 on pots, received:

Alien Shooter 1....... Aqua Kitty
Alien Shooter 2....... Ittle Dew
Zombie Shooter 1 ......Geneforge 1-5
Zombie Shooter 2 .......Penumbra Collection
Puddle .......Mutant Blobs attack

The only ones I don't own already were Mutant Blobs, Ittle Dew, Aqua Kitty and Puddle, and unfortunately I'm not too excited about any of those.

Obviously I'm not going to blame gog for giving me games I already owned from another digital distributor, but seriously, I didn't get a single game I was hoping for- Aarklash Legacy, Machine for Pigs, Cognition Erica Reed Thriller, Deadly Premonition, Deponia 3, and Outlast.

All the other potential games I already owned here on gog. So I literally got every game I didn't want, and not a single game that I did. I've suddenly been reminded why I hate gambling :)
I'm probably going to take my luck at the grab bag with 5 pots of gold picks.

I'm wondering though, will the 5 randomly picked games 100% NOT be games I already own, or is there a chance I may end up with stuff I own already?

It won't give you games you already own, atleast not on gog ;)

noncompliantgame: You don't get to "re-roll". You only find out what you've picked after you pay!

Paying hard earned money for something without knowing what it is? No way GOG.

But some of the 90% off looks good even tho there's nothing from my wish list. 90% off - you're learning GOG, you're learning.

tammerwhisk: You obviously haven't read much of this thread.
You're right, I haven't. Did I miss something?

You can see what you'll receive before you decide to pay, and reroll if necessary:

I think the Luck of The Irish promo is great and the Pots of Gold are just brilliant!

Sure, it's a little risky purchasing a mystery game and only get to find out what it is after it's paid for, but that's part of the excitement. Also, it's only $2.00 for each one and you could end up with a pretty good game for that money.

From the Pots of Gold I bought 6 games:
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, Ittle Dew, Geneforge 1-5, Zombie Shooter 1 and 2, and Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender.

I'm very happy with all tiles I got through the Pots of Gold, that was pretty lucky!

I wish you all the best of Irish Luck!
I decided to try my luck with 2x random picks as well as Smugglers 5 and Avadon 1&2 from the list. Managed to score Geneforge 1-5 and Avernum: The Complete Saga which were both on my Wishlist. Very happy with the results!! Thanks GoG! :-)
I've come to accept that the ONLY games available through the Pot of Gold special are:

Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender
Giana Sisters: Rise of the Owlverlord
Geneforge 1-5
Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
'Ittle Dew
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Avernum: The Complete Saga

I have yet to see a single game that wasn't among those listed above. Some of those games, like Aqua Kitty, appear EVERY single time I roll and re-roll.

Maybe a very select few people have actually acquired other titles through the Pot of Gold thing, but it's not the norm.
