Snickersnack: Wow! That's almost as cool as the Craigslist inner tube robber from last year.
Who needs Hollywood these days?

what's inner tube?

Aliasalpha: Thats pretty much what I was thinking. They get back into the chopper and take off saying "Well thats the post production budget taken care of"

michaelleung: Maybe they'll be using the cash for a nice new camera.

Or a video camera.

5D Mark II does awesome 1080p video by itself. The RED, while expensive (thus guaranteeing quality), appears to be inferior, based on megapixels, and the fact that the camera looks butt ugly.

Since when is 4K 16:9 (4096×2304) less than 1080p (1920x1080)?
And the RED is not a single-body camera, it's "pick the parts you want and connect them to get a complete camera" (also mount them on a frame, which we also conveniently sell parts for).

I merely need 1080p. And besides, I'd rather buy a car than a video camera.

Cryxo: In Sweden?! Nothing ever happens in Sweden.
Kudos to their awesomeness though.

There was a money transport robbery wave year or two back where where robbers robbed armoured money transfer cars armed with assault rifles and explosives. Security companies in charge of money transfers stopped money trasfers for awhile if I recall correctly. The gang was never busted if I remember correctly.
There's also the ongoing Pirate Bay trial farce that has completely ruined peoples trust in Swedish legal system. Another judge in the case (third in entire case) has been just charged with bias being employee of online music store Spotify.
There's also ongoing Pirate Bay farce, where deptors of the buyer GFF have demanded that GFF declare backrupty due to outstanding depts. GFF has been taken off stock exchange due to suspicion of insider trading. Largest shareholder and director of the company has had his luxury boat and some other assests impouded due to outstading tax depts and he still promisses that the sale will go thru.
So, at least lately, Sweden has not been so boring place after all.

Ever played the game Toobin' ?
It's like a donut shaped raft. They're mostly used for leisure in the USA. I can almost picture the guy chilling with a bag of loot in one hand, and a beer in the other. Now that's my kind of getaway. ;)

Well... when I said "nothing happens in Sweden"... Nevemind. Good point. You have proved me wrong. Forgot about the whole Pirate Bay crap that is going on.
Those silly Swedes...And to Aliasalpha, Jack Thompson wants to hire you for calling GTA evil. =/
lol best robbery ever.
That's what you call epic... Gotta applaud the robbers for their guts... and sense of cliche style.
Speaking as a law-abiding citizen who does not condone or applaud the actions of thieves, I must say... holy shit!

Well Sweden borders Finlands so most of the things happening there get news coverage here as well but it might not be the case in UK.
The news article did list three other high profile crimes that happened in Sweden in recent years:
Sweden has seen a series of spectacular robberies in recent years. Last year a group of men broke into a mail processing center in Goteborg, paralyzing large parts of Sweden's second-largest city after spreading out spikes, burning out cars in different areas and leaving suspected explosive devices in the center.
In 2006, Goteborg's international airport was partially closed after masked men crashed through a gate and held up luggage handlers as they were unloading crates of foreign currency worth $1.1 million from a passenger aircraft.
Four years earlier, robbers pulled off a similar heist at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport, when staff were loading foreign currency worth 43 million kronor ($6.3 million) onto an aircraft.

There are other things as well like Swedish pirate party gaining seat in European Parlament and is 3rd largest party in term or registered members in Sweden (with over 50 000 registered members). I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting :P

JonhMan: That's what you call epic... Gotta applaud the robbers for their guts... and sense of cliche style.

They were probably watching a lot of Michael Man films/playing Kane and Lynch and were like, "You know what? We could totally rob a place."
"Yeah, we COULD!"
This reminds me of an incident in 1999. The latest girlfriend of a guy serving time for armed robbery hijacked a helicopter and had it flown over the rec yard, and later they hijacked a car. When police searched the woman's house, they found helicopter brochures and three jailbreak movies, evidently used for inspiration. They were caught six weeks later.

Well, it's more creative than just waving a gun at a bank teller. Can't quite bring myself to giving them points for what they did do, but it's an interesting way to do it.
