Titanium: I thought there would be skeletons.

Just as well it's Dune. ;)

Floppy discs? Oh for shame, no voice and animations then?

That's almost worse than Sam&Max no talkie.

hercufles: there was a time that you could buy a console today with the price of a cd rom drive back then. ahahah single speed, double speed.
64GB Hard Drive.......only 300 dollars.

GameRager: No please don't bring Sam&Max up....I remember playing the no talkie because it's all the abandonware sites had and I never did find a copy anywhere at the time(no CC or net at the time.)
The same for me! Only later did I buy a CD version that blew my mind. I still think the "new" voices in the Telltale Sam&Max games are inferior to the old ones. But they do try, so that makes even.

And let's not forget the TV series. Harvey Atkin and Robert Tinkler are THE Sam and Max.

I am a great fan of the Dune universe myself, especially the books, but also most of the games. Still got the box for the floppy version of the first two games, with movie tie-in art and all. I think Lynch should be lynched for that film though (to be fair, he might have done his best with a very epic and massive story, still the result was something of a mess in my opinion), but the first game was magnificent and while it did go it's own way with the story, I still felt it did the books greater justice than the film. Dune 2 was also great and revolutionary for it's time (if very different from the first game, of course - heralding a completely new genre), Dune 2000 I can happily forget, while "Emperor: Battle for Dune" again gets two thumbs way up.

I want them all on GOG. ;)

Snickersnack: But those things are almost as big as cereal boxes! Heavy ones scare me the most because it might not be a manual but 25+ floppies*. ;)

*Curse you Lotus Word Pro!

hercufles: 25? and i tought 7 for a game was alot, pls insert disc 1 hey another entrance pls insert 3. Eye of the beholder 2 was the first disc the disc that you put your saves on and they warned me to make a copy of disc 1.
I never actually found 25 in a game. Lotus Word Pro scared me straight. I was CD only after that. :)
That POS is long gone although I now sort of wish I took a picture. If you have a strong stomach I found a pic of OS/2 Warp install media on Ebay. 35 disks!

OS/2 Floppy Horror

I think 8 was the most I personally found in a game but I recall others having more. Ultima 8 had a bunch if I recall but that sort of information is now hard to find on the interwebs.
wow installing that monster :)
Beneath a Steel Sky for the Amiga came on around 15 disks.
