Time Commando, a critically acclaimed action-adventure game with puzzle elements, will take you on a ride across the ages with a 60% discount for the next 24 hours.

A combat training simulation gone very, very bad. A mysterious virus breaking loose and creating a time-space vortex that threatens the existence of the universe. A stout-hearted S.A.V.E (Special Action for Virus Elimination) operative on a solitary mission through time. A game so full of action and adventure, that it needs nine unique stages to contain all of it. In Time Commando you will visit the prehistoric era, Roman empire, feudal Japan, medieval era, time of the conquistadors, wild west, world war period, and the future, each with characteristic enemies, and weapons you’ll need to collect to defeat them. And if you manage to conquer the timeline there’s one more realm, existing outside the known universe, you’ll still need to visit to face the culprit of all this chaos.

Time Commando is an action-focused title in which you control a 3D character in a set of pre-rendered environments presented from static viewpoints (much like in the classic Alone in the Dark games). The armory at your disposal is vast and varied, but the ammunition can be scarce at times. At times! It's funny because you're a time commando.

Take the nearest dimensional vortex and stop the Predator Virus from annihilating the space-time continuum in Time Commando for only $2.39 until Thursday, August 2 at 10:59 AM GMT.
I honest to god was just thinking last week about how cool it would be to give this game a try and BAM it goes on sale just a couple of days later

GOG is run by Wizards, I swear

Ghorpm: Same here. I do not have the game anymore but the probability I will play it again is very, very low so I shall pass.

timppu: At least it is a super linear game, considering it is partly an on-rails game with forced scrolling (as the bacground is FMV). So very little replay value at least, not to mention the gameplay is quite simple IIRC.

But there is just something so charming about many French games, Time Commando is one of them. And around 2€ is quite little...
On the other hand it's hard to expect non-linearity of the game that was released in 1996 ;)
I was going to pass this sale, but then I found out that this game was made by the LBA guys a year before LBA 2. It just can't be not good. Guess I'll be getting this after all. Sigh.

Fun fact: Stanley, the hero of Time Commando, has a little cameo in LBA2 :-)

Wait, did you need to beat him? If so, I think I remember him. Heh.

ne_zavarj: It's on my wishlist .

TheEnigmaticT: Does that mean you bought it, or just that you've wishlisted it? It's not like it's going to be on sale for a higher percentage off any time soon. :P
It's on my wishlist . = i don't own it

Well, now is your chance. It's a pretty safe bet that it won't get any cheaper than this in the foreseeable future ;-)

Thanks. I thought as much. I remember when I played the game as a kid thinking that large fella was rather out of place there. Now I know why. And he was a pain in the ass.
Bought! For that price you can hardly do anything wrong. And regarding the fact that the game was made by the guys that made LBA and LBA2, I am pretty sure that it is not a completely bad game.
So is the PC port any better than the horrible PS1 version? I
Wonderful game.
I'll buy it because of the wallpaper and THAT is the only reason.
Nice game, it is indeed worthy of the GOG gem status.

Don't know about the PS1 version, but the PC version got some good reviews when it came out:
