Anomaly Warzone Earth, the tower defense game where you’re the attacker, gives you the chance to defend our planet from an overwhelming invasion with a 60% discount until 9 August 2012 at 10:59 GMT.

The sudden, otherworldly strike against the Earth shattered the planet’s defences. Many of the world’s major cities were turned into smoking ruins. Upon them, the alien invaders built their heavily armed outposts. Things are looking very grim for humankind. But there’s still some hope. It will take a military mastermind to lead the remaining Earth’s forces and launch a successful counterattack, but it can be done.

Apart from the sleek graphics and flawless presentation this game looks just like every other tower defence game. But there’s a twist: this time you are the attacking party and the towers defending the battlefield belong to your alien enemy. As your units progress along their path, the hostile installations cover them with a hail of bullets. It’s up to you to manage your scarce resources, install upgrades, apply repair kits, and make sure that the human forces complete their objectives. If they fail, you’ll be the one to blame. After all, planning the best attack route is part of your job as the Earth’s last great military mind.

Get Anomaly Warzone Earth to plan your perfect offensive and launch a devastating attack against the aliens, for only $3.99 until Thursday, August 9 at 10:59 AM GMT.

SimonG: I actually bought that for my phone. As a PC game I find it a little bit to uninteresting. But 4$ isn't that much either ...
The phone version is actually slightly different to the Windows/Mac/Linux versions. Slightly different levels for a start. I picked it up from two indie bundles (any surprise there?), certainly one of the best indie games around.

gyokzoli: Buy it, it's a wonderful game!
You know what ? Yes.

I was actually very impressed with the Android port. It felt like a "real" game, as opposed to most of the über-casuals with low production values you usually get on the platform. It was also clear that a lot of thought had gone into how best to adapt the gameplay to a touchscreen without making the controls awkward.
Great game. I got stuck on Level 13 (Fat Ahmad) and gave up a while ago, but I was able to finish it on the iPad (different levels) so I thought I'd try it again. I just finished this morning... it's tough but doable. You definitely have to think strategically and also click quickily ( yes I know ;) )

I found the touch version better, the mouse is a bit challenging to direct, especially in level 13 when the camera gets pulled away from your control by the script.

I had loads of fun with this one so far, at $4 it's a steal.
Grabbed it, thanks GOG.
This game is awesome! Is a simple, but challenging and rewarding experience. Don't miss the chance to grab a DRM-Free copy from here, you won't regret it.

Cheers!
Yes I got it part of a Humble Bundle already including the (DRM-free) PC version, and the DRM-free Android version. But I still see no point starting to bitch that GOG sells it too, fine by me that they do. :)

Not my cup of tea though, the little I've played it. As said, the Android and PC versions are a bit different from each others. If I'll play it sometime, it will be on the Android device as it has a shortage of interesting games, unlike my PC.

Zoltan999: Yeah..I hate when that crap happens in a game...I enjoy increasing difficulty (what it's all about right), but as it has been discussed before regarding other games, when it shoots up significantly all the sudden, where the level becomes near, or almost impossible, it definitely detracts from the pleasure. Well, looking forward to playing through those first levels, anyway ;-) Btw, anyone know if the 'puter specs shown pretty stringent, or are somewhat forgiving? Have an xp machine with a dual core 2.6, and Nvidia 7600GT. I think I should be able to skirt by...

mrkgnao: I'm playing Anomaly just now and I must say that the difficulty is increasing at a very reasonable rate. I'm on mission #10 and haven't encountered anything too difficult (on "Advanced" difficulty setting). If I identify the original poster's mission rightly, I have passed it with few retries. It all boils down to identifying the right tactic for each situation (smoke for one tower type, decoy for another, approach a third from the side/back, stay out of the fourth's radius of effect, repair on corners, use commander to draw fire, etc.)

If there is anything to gripe about in this game it's:
(a) the checkpoint system -- some are a bit too far apart
(b) the fact that units do not carry from mission to mission -- but that's all too common in many strategy games.

* Thanks for the info, sounds right up my alley*

Not a bad game at all, especially at this price. Buy it!
I did! :)
Good game. I have and I recommend.

Is the android version any good? how close is it to the PC? and please dont tell me they have in app purchases and whatnot?

I was planning to get this game to keep me busy until fieldrunners 2 will be out for android.

It's pretty close to the PC version overall, but changes have been made to support the touchscreen. The commander doesn't feature in the android version for instance, and the levels are not the same. Overall I'd say it's awesome though. Good enough for me to complete it twice, at any rate. And no, there are no in-app purchases that I'm aware of. Compared to most other android games, Anomaly is a shining example of what android gaming could be, but usually fails to achieve.
Wow, I had absolutely NO interest in this game yesterday, and then just watched a couple of videos on YouTube. Amazing graphics, cool gameplay and fabulous soundtrack.

Yep. I now own it :)
Just played through the first two missions of this game and it's AWESOME.

Seriously, if you haven't grabbed it yet, I think there's another hour it will be on sale.

BUY IT -- it's extremely fun, and ooh, the graphics are gorgeous.
