[NOTE: A wonderful alternative to the bare-bones text files I maintain below can be found at http://sdrv.ms/UXVDke, the result of indefatigable work by ConnieThunder]

For a while now I have been feeling that there's something missing from GOG and that is a list of the exact sizes of all the downloadable files (the sizes quoted by GOG on one's account page are all too often inaccurate), as well as their MD5 values (hashes, signatures).

Towards that end I have compiled two small files (200-300KB each):

1) A list of file sizes and the dates when I've last downloaded each file (gog_siz.txt) -- here is a short excerpt:
2204963 2013-04-17 ./h/Heroes_Of_Might_And_Magic_3_Complete_Edition/homm3_creature_compendium.zip
21993446 2010-11-20 ./h/Heroes_Of_Might_And_Magic_3_Complete_Edition/homm3_manuals.zip
90086763 2010-11-20 ./h/Heroes_Of_Might_And_Magic_3_Complete_Edition/homm3_soundtrack.zip
749216 2012-11-08 ./h/Heroes_Of_Might_And_Magic_3_Complete_Edition/homm3_tutorial.zip
987508536 2013-04-17 ./h/Heroes_Of_Might_And_Magic_3_Complete_Edition/setup_homm3_complete_2.0.0.16.exe

2) A list of file MD5's (gog_md5.txt) -- here is a short excerpt:
ab447ea9e661e811e2231a9fe8a4d49b *./h/Heroes_Of_Might_And_Magic_3_Complete_Edition/homm3_creature_compendium.zip

Feel free to download and use these files as you see fit. Hopefully, they will be of some help in identifying interrupted downloads and outdated file versions. For now they contain only Windows-related information, not Mac (sorry, don't have enough disk space...).

Additionally, the files also contain information about 8 games now gone from GOG's catalogue: Chessmaster® 9000, Cryostasis, Dark Fall: The Journal, Dark Fall 2: Lights Out, Second Sight, Space Rangers, Space Rangers 2: Reboot, XIII. [Note: data for "Republic: The Revolution" is available below (post31, courtesy of zolansilverspear)]

If you have similar information about any of the missing games, feel free to post it here.

I will try to keep the list updated. If you find any of the information in the two files incorrect, please notify me!

P.S. If you think these lists are no longer necessary because GOG now notifies us of all game updates, think again. For some reason only some updates are marked by GOG's update notification system -- others (many others) just go unreported.

Thanks, that should prove to be very useful! :)

Related question: Does anybody know of a tool that can batch check MD5 checksums? It would be an incredible timesaver to just feed a list such as mrkgnao's to such a program and then let it report any mismatches from a whole collection. :)

I used Gnu's md5sum to compile the list. You can use it for checking too.

I rename the folders after downloading so I didn't include that information here - size and md5 ought to be the most important info, though..
The GOGWiki has a list of MD5 hashes for the installer files. Maybe you can use those to double-check your list.

Edit: I just noticed that the hash for setup_rollercoaster_tycoon_deluxe.exe appears to be incorrect on the GOGWiki. I can't change it, though, since the page seems to be protected.

A (slightly out of date) list of CRC32, MD5 and SHA1 digests can be found here

EDIT: Quickly generated and added 'BYTES' which has file sizes too

Thanks. I did use it to double-check my list.
Nine games were different:
- Atlantis: The Lost Tales
- King's Bounty: The Legend (3 files)
- Little Big Adventure (Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure)
- M.A.X. + M.A.X. 2
- Myst: Masterpiece Edition
- RollerCoaster Tycoon: Deluxe (as you had noticed too)
- SWAT 3: Tactical Game of the Year Edition
- Wing Commander™ 1+2
- Zork Anthology, The

I re-downloaded these -- all were correct on my list and incorrect (probably outdated) on GOGWiki.
This would be a lot easier if GOG would get around to digitally signing their installers...
Update:
Added 5 games to the files listed in the original post:
- Alien Breed + Tower Assault
- Hitman: Codename 47
- Superfrog
- Syndicate™
- Worms United

Well, this topic was started December 25, 2011 and I didn't know it exists.
I'll just reiterate that all of the checksums, filesizes, filenames and version numbers are on the GOGWiki. If you want the MD5 for a game, just go to its article.

I already mentioned that above. However, the MD5 sums in this thread are actually more up-to-date and complete than the ones on the GOGWiki. GOG seems to have changed some installers, so the information on the GOGWiki is outdated for some files.

We're aware of this, and rest assured most of us (IRC people who contribute to the Wiki) catch updates soon after they're made. One of the top priorities of the Wiki is to make sure you know about updates to GOGs since GOG do not release update notes for some reason.

If an MD5 is out of date on the Wiki, then please update it yourself. The Wiki is a collaborative effort, after all. Don't take it as it is.
