Yes, I saw the reply in the Here's a code for Silver thread. I am still using the OLD GOG Downloader ('cause the new one that utilizes .NET Framework just does not work in my Linux workstation with Wine), and so I was wondering how come the md5 checksum given in the setup_silver_1.0.0.9.exe.crc is fe487e54282ec4ef160c2440f4461de3, and yet the file setup_silver_1.0.0.9.exe runs alright.

Is this an MD5 hash or a CRC32 hash? Not sure what format the CRC32 hash has, but it is possible that the downloader uses a different hash method.
Of course, given the fact that I haven't had that much to do with CRC functions, other than the old SFV32 usage, it may be safe to ignore my rantings.

From my experience with the other dozen GOG games I downloaded, the checksum is actually md5, so the .crc file extension is rather misleading.

Anyway, maybe this can be attributed to the fact that I am using the old GOG Downloader.
