Pheace: No, digital stores don't work on buy stock, sell stock. They're services. They sell games for publishers for ~30% of the games sale price.

Mind you, that doesn't mean they don't have a stock of keys that may possibly run out (till they get more from the publisher). You can't have an endless supply of keys. If that were the keys people could just guess at random numbers to try and activate games.
I believe they have an "endless supply of keys".
Or rather, I am strongly assuming that.

There is a simple way of preventing any misuse: by generating active keys randomly when the transaction happens. Even if you randomly type in every combination in the world, it doesn't matter, if none of those codes is active on the server side.

Stores/bundles/etc. which only deliver Steam keys have sometimes been proven to work otherwise, and actually have some kind of stock (sometimes accidentally selling the same set of keys twice, etc.), but there are reasons for that.
Overpriced, no buy, waiting for a proper drop at xmas
I already have this from here on GOG.com.

Little bit disappointed that GOG never fixed their shortcuts for the game, though, especially as I raised this with them here in the forums (and got a response from a GOG staff member too) when the game was first released here.

Details (for those interested or new buyers):

The -w command parameter in the shortcut to play in windowed mode works, but when going back to the normal full screen shortcut there is no command parameter present for full screen and so it plays in the last used setting, which is windowed. Hence with GOG's shortcuts at present, once you've played windowed, both shortcuts play windowed.
To fix it, the full screen shortcut needs to have a -f command parameter for full screen.

I really wish there was a way to randomize the terrain in SC4 like you could in SimCity 2000. It's just really strange that you can only set the custom "region" to be all flat earth or all water, but nothing else.
SimCity 4 is awesome, one of the few games that don't have a predefined end. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a chillout gaming experience and don't mind being yelled at by advisors.

Not tried it myself, though.

Yeah, I've read about that, but I still don't understand why the game itself can't do any kind of random terrain generation. Why is a 3rd-party program needed to do something that could be done in SC2000?
I am about to get this, I jsut want to be sure it works fine with win8. I have it on my origin account and it is horible. Plus i just read about once you play in window mode that its for life,. any input would be appreciated

See my post a few up from here. It is just a shortcut issue that GOG didn't put right.
There are two command parameter flags, one for windowed and one for fullscreen (-w and -f respectively).
If you don't specify one then the game continues using the last used setting.
The GOG shortcuts have a -w in the windowed one, but no -f in the fullscreen one, hence why it continues using windowed mode. To correct it you just add -f to the fullscreen shortcut.

For reference, my shortcuts are:

Windowed
"C:\Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1 -w -CustomResolution:enabled -r1600x900x32

and

Fullscreen
"C:\Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1 -f -CustomResolution:enabled -r1680x1050x32

Yeah, I also added custom resolutions but that is optional.

IronArcturus: SimCity 4 is a lot of fun. But we still need SimCity 3000 too!

jalister: I have Sim City 2000 and 4 already. I also need to suggest getting EA to wake up and release Sim City 3000 here. There really is no reason not to.
I second you both - we definitely need SimCity 3000 here, if for no other reason than to 1.) complete the collection and 2.) have the most current official version that does random terrain generation.
SimCity 3000 would be nice to complete the collection for sure, and also a lot of people currently in their mid-late 20's grew up with that version so it would probably generate a good deal of revenue.

I also think that if SimCity 4 Deluxe does well here and generates a ton of revenue that EA would be more likely to release The Sims 2 Ultimate Edition at GOG as well. One can only hope.
