michaelleung: Yeah, it's like every car was made out of Play Doh or something, it was that bad.

I detested the handling in GTA4, but you know what, it seemed a lot more realistic.. And given time, it actually grew on me.
Finished Half Life 2: Episode 1.. Must say that it wasn't too bad. Very short, but still a blast to play. There were some stand out sequences. The Zombie elevator, and the Strider battle.
Story wise it was more of a sampler, the plot seemed to create more questions than answers. I'm currently playing Episode 2, have put in about 11 hours so far (damn achievements), and am really enjoying it.
Never understood the complaints about the driving in GTA4, its the very first game I ever played where I honestly understood how people could find driving relaxing

It was different? Hell, most complaints about ANYTHING are for that reason. Hooray for fanboiz?

Wolfox: Finished a full story run on Titan Quest Immortal Throne and Sacred Gold (original campaign, not Underworld).
If anyone asks, I was getting prepared for Torchlight. After Tuesday, I don't think I'll play any other Action RPG game for a long time.

captfitz: What about Diablo 3? Not a fan?

See my mention of "long time"? No one knows when Diablo 3 will be ready, but it won't be "soon". I suspect I'll play Torchlight at the very least until Diablo 3 hits, and most likely after that - also, if Blizzard makes an online connection mandatory for single-player Diablo 3, I might even pass on it.
Of course, GOG just made it hard for me by making Divine Divinity available today. It's a good time for Action RPG fans. :-)

Go and play GTA: Vice City then compare it to GTA4. I found no fun in driving any of the cars in GTA4 and the turning circles were ridiculous. Compare the Sanchez in VC to the one in GTA4. The Sanchez in GTA4 is heavy, turns like a tank and the brakes just don't work and its a dirt bike!!!
Just finished the redneck rampage games, redneck rampage, sucking grits on route 66 and redneck rides again.
They are not as good as Duke Nukem but it was mostly fun playing through them, Sucking grits on route 66 is by far the best of the lot though.

In the month leading up to the 360 release of 4, I played 3, VC and SA on ther PC just to get myself back in the GTA mindset which turned out to be a bad thing since the game changed so much. I got pretty frustrated with the driving for a while until I decided to just cruise and get used to it and I realised the problem was that I was playing with analoguue controls but using them as if they were digital, slamming the foot down on the brake and accellerator and that was fucking me up all over. Once I twigged to my mistake I was actually enjoying driving rather than finding it the chore between missions. I don't know how the PC keyboard controls would handle the car physics, it may really suck but on the 360 they're a dream

I use a 360 controller as well. You may be right about the analogue/digital thing alright but that only accounts for so much. I still cant understand their reasoning for changing it. Making the handling more realistic? In GTA? lolwhut?
If it wasn't such a broken mess I would have enjoyed Saints Row 2 more than GTA just for the car and bike handling alone.

Ahh well thats where we differ, as much as I enjoyed the arcadey stupidity of 3, by the end of san andreas it was getting annoyingly samey. For me I found the GTA4 move to a neighborhood where if you look through a powerful telescope you might see the outskirts of realism to be the shot in the arm that the game needed. The vehicle handling is something that I noticed the most because it was my first console GTA, I was planning on holding out for the PC version because I wanted mouse aiming but now I've played with analogue driving, there's no way I'll be getting 5 on PC (unless someone makes an analogue keyboard)
Well I just finished GTA4: The Ballad of Gay Tony and I only have 4 words to say about it
Far
King
Oar
Some
It returned much of the madness of San Andreas but did it with the slightly more realistic approach to the game that 4's engine has. That said, any game where you drive a dirtbike off a ramp on top of a hospital skyscraper, jump off it, pop a parachute and then land on a moving boat can't exactly be described as realistic...
The last mission was insanely hectic, story, drive, drama, character development, giant back-against-the-wall-shootout, another giant shootout, a quick drive, another giant shootout, a bike chase followed by a final small shootout and last bit of mad "obviously the end of the game" style shit.
Excellent stuff, definitely recommend it to anyone with the 360 version

Has there been any mention of the DLC on PS3 or PC yet? I know MS negotiated an exclusivity deal but there is some speculation over how long the deal lasts for and Rockstar always decline to comment.
No word yet, the last thing I read about rockstar was a teaser poster that implies a march release for something not in liberty city (seems too early for gta5 though, especially with the addons doing so well)

It could be Vice City 2, or something. If GTA 3 is anything to go by then that's what they'll be releasing on the major platforms next.
