Is this Pandaria expansion thing for real? And not some elaborate April Fool's joke?

Didn't they just come out with a big expansion last year?

Ten months is about the usual amount of time between launch and announcement for WoW expansion packs. It'll probably be a year or more before MoP is out.

Blizzard usually do WoW expansions in a 18-24 months period. Cataclysm came out in October, I think, and it was considered to be a small expansion, actually. So, you could see the next expansion around April or May, or maybe later.

4.3 should be out soon, this or the next month... then probably 4.4 will come, to kill the long wait between 4.3 and the expansion... and maybe another small patch to set things up for the expansion's story.

My favorite event was the pre-Wrath event when there were undead swarming different spots around the world, and you had to fly around and kill them off and people could be infected and become zombies.

I managed to trade a bunch of stuff to the other faction by me and my friend both being zombies. At first they were their own faction, we could trade cross-horde to alliance to get some decent starting wealth and equipment..

My favorite lol moment with the zombie event was when a player said "wth is everyone that's a zombie saying 'Braaaaaaains... braaaaaaaains.' That's so lame! Stop it!" (Anything said by a zombie would be heard by a non-zombie as 'brains' due to the faction language translation system.)

I haven't had a moment in WoW post-AQ gate opening and post-Wrath event that has sucked me in so completely.

I remember reading a blue post that 4.3 is the last planned content patch before the next expansion. So if they make a 4.4, it'll probably be the set of world events that sets up 5.0.

They said the same thing as with 3.3, IIRC. Then 3.3.5 appeared, and after it, the world events appeared. Maybe not major patches, but both had new content with them. Cataclysm could well follow this.

Few instances of 4.3.x to get Deathwing unlocked, then 4.4 or 4.3.X to add some small, but much needed raid (so that people won't get bored raiding Deathwing), and then next could be the finding of Pandaria or whatever they are going to do to transfer players to the new island.

EDIT: The pre-WotLK even was uber fun, yea!

kalirion: I won't touch D3 until it inevitably goes F2P.
No Blizzard games have ever gone F2P and considering D3 isn't even a MMO, well... good luck with that.

In what way is D3 less of a MMO than, say, Guild Wars?

WOW has made the first 20 levels F2P.

WoW's first 20 levels are more of an extended trial than F2P, considering you need to buy the game and start playing time afterwards (And those 20 levels are heavily restricted if you don't have the full game).

D3 is in essence the same as D2, you don't need a team for anything whereas in Guild Wars you do, and D3 isn't based around hubs (GW is). The always-on battle.net requirement is mainly Blizzard's attempt at DRM with the real-money auction house and achievements as an excuse.

D3 has no pausing and you get kicked off if you idle too long, resetting your progress. That's an online only game, however you want to split the hairs between MMO and not MMO. That makes it definitely not just like D2 as D2 had a solid offline experience.

Still not enough of a solid ground to make it F2P considering Blizz has no other revenue model from it than selling boxes and the cut they get from the RMAH, the latter of which I'm sure most people won't use anyway.

orcishgamer: I always regretted never downing Sapph and KT, but after 4H they didn't seem much worth it as TBC was just around the corner. I'm surprised no Abom wing, only Patchwerk is hard at all until you get to Thadd, which admittedly might have been a little over the top in difficulty.
Sapphiron and KT were seriously annoying to kill, though not as annoying as the trash after the twin emperors. The farming for the AQ40 opening came close though (was a holy priest tasked with killing elites :P)

Did you ever get mind control duty at Raz or Faerlina? That was fun :)

How sure are you?

A Diablo 3 expansion is already in development.

Also, Starcraft 2 isn't going free-to-play, why should Diablo? They are basically based on the same model, and Diablo 3 even has a RMAH.

Uh... if you had read my post you would've noticed I was saying D3 wouldn't be going F2P...

I was a warrior, I was glad the priests had something super fun and different to do since they got the short end of the stick so often. I never did get to MC Raz's students, though, I think it would have been fun. I did get to dps, though, and with so much fury gear I'd regularly get bitch slapped by Raz. Being in a high end guild yourself you probably know how much amazing off-spec gear you can pile up (oh god, the Heigan pants, talk about getting envy from the whole server until they became more common).

I was a dick, though, I looted Maex's Fang after the 8th one dropped with none of the warrior swords ever dropping anywhere (seriously, our rogues and people's raid specced rogue alts had it by then, some newbie was along so I could have passed it... just had some shitty BWL one hander that needed replacing).
