The Warcraft lore gotten bent and abused with the addition of the Undead to the Horde for faction balancing reasons so hard, not even Pandarens for both factions can do any more harm....

Not all of the Undead joined the Horde. Only those lead by Sylvanas.

I don't like how WoW makes the lore alittle more epic then completely fugs it up, this coming from a WoW player from early 2005, quit in BC and then came back for Catalysm for abit.

Back in vanilla, Alliance was complaining about how OP Shamans were and the Horde were complaining about how OP Paladin's bubble was. After a few changes and nerfs here and there, people were still bickering, and so they made Shamans and Palys available to both Alliance and Horde which was kinda BS imo.
Blood Elves looking like Anime characters and joining the Horde feels wrong in a way and them having holy powers, even worse.

AQ40 then was the most epic moment in vanilla WoW, the opening of the gates was plain memorable, one of a kind event (before the server crashed that is). But AQ40 opened the gates to the first Old God and considering the Old Gods were the most powerful beings in Azeroth who could fight out a few Titans and who wanted to manipulate Sargeras and Deathwing for their own motives, it's pretty ridiculous that a bunch of level 60 characters should kill one off. Our guild actually made it to him but never downed him because Nax came out. And C'thun was not only the one, in came Yogg Saron in WOTLK who was also killed by a bunch of players.

I'm not sure what to think about there must always be a Lich King thingy. Then again I've not read the Arthas novel. Not sure if Arthas was really holding back the horde of undead. And that you really need another to hold off the horde. And whatever happened to Nerzhul?

In the process Lady Vash fell, Kaelthas fell and came back and fell again, Illidan fell, the Magic Aspect Malygos fell, Arthas fell, the 2 Old Gods fell, and now omg, it's the Aspect of the Earth's turn.
They're running out of villains, imo. There's only Queen Azhara, the remaining Old Gods, KilJaden and Sargaras left. Recycling the bosses seems really cheap, Ragnaros returns from vanilla to Cataclysm, so did Onyxia and Nefarian, didn't we chop the heads off the 2 and hung them in Stormwind, heck I remember skinning Onyxia too, bah. Wouldn't be surprised if Illidan and Arthas came back all the sudden.

I was really pumped, but I've changed my mind. Why don't they accept donkeys?!

cw8: you forgot for example about Mal'Ganis. Yes, he was not grindable boss dropping some shiny purple epixx, but he died in Stratholme in Warcraft 3, only to be encountered in Icecrown zone as a quest enemy. Disguised as a high-ranked Scarlett Crusader and telling you that it was just a setback.

Also Ner'Zhul should be fighting with Bolvar Fordragon (that dude who took the Lich King's crown in the video after Arthas' death) over the control of the Scourge, or some other shit Blizzard pulled out of their asses.

And all these lore rapes are why I think that there will be no Warcraft 4. If it will be, it will contain plenty of new characters and would not have much in common with older games, barring the world

I must concur, it was a gag, WC3 itself wasn't nearly as serious as the other WC titles and the Pandaran stuff was actually flatly denied by Blizzard as being "too goofy" for TBC and they sword up and down it would never happen. It's like the Cow Level in D2, sounds great on paper, turns out it pretty much ruined the game, because guess where the best powerleveling spot was for the longest time... the fucking, boring cow level.
The rest are mindless, so all the ones capable of independent thought (possibly only due to Sylvannas and other powerful undead) did. The Lich King's minions were mindless in original Nax and Plaguelands, dunno if they've revamped it now.
Yes, but Naxramus was the best instance by far (original) and the original Four Horseman boss fight probably the best one they ever did.

Yeah original Nax was the best, the most colourful and the hardest. You guys cleared the 4 Horsemen? Grats then. We only cleared the Instructor and the whole Spider Wing. Remember the 4 Horsemen and C'thun were the hardest bosses in vanilla.

And the lore has never been abused in other products? Like maybe Star Wars or just about anything that had a value attached to it. I don't like it myself but I vote with my wallet and not with empty threats in online forums.

Oh I knew you meant the gate opening event and I agree it was fun, though I only saw a bit as I had to go to work during most of the festivities.

Yeah we downed Four Horsemen and C'thun, the latter of which was a right pain in the ass but nothing compared to the flawless execution needed for Four Horsemen (I'd estimate maybe 3-5 people could fuck on on C'thun, post entering the room at least, on Horsemen I'd estimate you could have 1-2 dps fuck up, if a healer or a tank did before you were under 20% you were boned).

I always regretted never downing Sapph and KT, but after 4H they didn't seem much worth it as TBC was just around the corner. I'm surprised no Abom wing, only Patchwerk is hard at all until you get to Thadd, which admittedly might have been a little over the top in difficulty.

Deathknight Wing was stupid after Raz anyway, Gothik was an annoying ass boss that I never liked. People would rather do the Heigan dance a second time rather than him.

How did you like the Maex fight? I always thought that one was kind of fun.

I was in the event when the Gates opened. Except the server crashed before the gate opened. Hundreds of a people in a single map in a single area is not a good thing :D

We wiped like dirty rags over the kitchen floor on Maexxna for days. Then again IIRC, we didn't exactly kill her, we only got her down to 3%. I remember coz I was one of the last ones standing and I was spamming Moonfire and trying to run and kite, bah!
Level 60 Naxxaramas was monstrously hard for us, we've just cleared AQ40 like twice only, without C'thun and only up to Twin Emps(one bastard who got that 2H Sword from the Twin Emps transferred server the very next day), our gears are mostly BWL's Tier 2, and we are mostly Singaporeans, a couple or so from Australia, playing in the US server Kilrogg, so the ping is not with us.

Come to think of it, Bolvar is freaking epic. Horde loved raiding Stormwind during Vanilla. And then they meet Bolvar, he simply AE Hammer of Justice and chain stuns the whole bunch surrounding him then unleashes his punishment, while we slowly killed the Horde one by one.

I thought his story petered out in a rather non-epic manner in vanilla (no idea if anything happened since then). I always wanted more from that story line.
Somehow I actually forgot about Twin Emps, yeah those guys were a severe gear check. The first real reason for warriors to spec prot back when prot offered very little in terms of benefit. For twin emps, though, it was practically required.

Damn proud to be in the raid in my guild that downed Twin Emps for the first time. Kinda like payback for me missing the downing of Nefarian for the first time in BWL; my boss in my previous job asked me to work OT and I missed the fight for Nefarian, and that's after me participating in all the first time kills of all the other bosses in BWL.

Kalimdor's Revenge dropped, a recently joined guildmate looted, was the kind of good guildmate u wanted, non-greedy, non-drama types, he then transferred to another server the next day.

Yeah I recall when some pants dropped in MC days, we had some newbie along for the ride and all our locks had em, so we'd have given them to the newbie, but we hadn't set loot preferences. One of our seniors guys grabbed, sharded them and hearthed out. Not that shit like that was always happening but it was going to happen from time to time, too bad though.
