It seems to be a thing that internet comics make fun of people who are knowledgeable about or good at something by calling them virgins. I don't mind these insults in a smack talk context, but the comic guy seems to imply that Mr. Alleged Virgin is the obnoxious one.

Or is he being meta about the concept of irony???

No.

bevinator: I find that this comic covers most of the issues surrounding the concept pretty well.
The fact that he gets all anal about "literally" makes this page quite ironic to my eyes.

Does that literally piss you off?

It really does.

Because "really" doesn't have to mean "it was real" for real, while "literally" has to mean literally "it was literal" , see...

mondo84: Here are some examples of irony:

kalirion: Heh, a lot of pretty funny ones!

What's with the girls with the geese? (or is that ducks?)
I think those are ducks, making fun of how girls make "duck face" when they pose for pictures.
People on the Internet complaining about how many dumb people they meet on the Internet.

Oh, what's up, ironic costume? I suppose you think you're cooler than everyone here! Well guess what: You're also here.

orcishgamer: The final trade, which I've been waiting months to read, of one of my all time favorite graphic novels arrived in the mail today... on the same day I had eye surgery and can't hardly see shit.

Your turn.
avatar
Roman5: What kind of "eye surgery" exactly? Lazer eye surgery?
I got the kind in this: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2011/08/24

I can now see today, I will now peruse my sex, violence, and perversion filled comic book. This will undoubtedly make me a much worse human being in the end... I can't wait:)

orcishgamer: Final trade of The Boys:)

Antaniserse: So, this is it? last issue?
I'm gonna miss that... now that the Ennis&Dillon Punisher saga is over, it was the only comic i was still following
The last issue came out awhile ago, the last trade came out 2 days ago (or so).

I'm thinking it would be truly ironic if the book you ordered was something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Relearning-See-Improve-Eyesight-Naturally/dp/1556433417/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1354931155&sr=8-3
The song "Ironic," as a whole.

Well, laser-eye surgery was pretty cool too (really, the machines are pretty cool). I did it with only localized eye-drops to kill the pain directly in my eyes, that part was less cool (sitting still, while they cut the cornea all the way around, save a small "hinge", and flip it open) with out any kind of drugs is a bit unnerving.

Also, burning eyeball smells a lot like burning your hair with a hair dryer.
