Newer version? I'm not aware of any such thing.
The GOG version does list W7 compatibility, however. http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/outcast

But, it should, Vista and Windows 7 are quite equal and I had no problem yet with any program that ran on Vista. But someone who owns the game might tell you for sure :)

It works perfectly for me on Windows 7 (64-bit).
