The chronicles of the Wormhole War.

Conquest: Frontier Wars, a refined deep space RTS that will have you not only fight for domination among the stars, but also manage and defend the territories you've conquered, is available on 60% off today, on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours!

The creation of wormhole technology was thought to be the biggest thing in human history. We thought that opening gateways to the distant corners of our galaxy would mean access to unlimited supplies and planets to settle for the human race. Science crews, mining rigs, colony ships--all were standing by, ready to launch in all directions. We were ready to make the galaxy our own. The galaxy, however, was not ready to accept us as its masters. We were prepared for colonisation, it turned out we should have prepared for war. The insectoid Mantis and the Celaerans, made from pure energy, readily stood in our way to glory. Of course, that wouldn't stop us for long.

Conquest: Frontier Wars isn't your typical space-warfare RTS. It offers many original features that make it a unique experience that can be enjoyed by newcomers and hardcore fans of the genre alike. You'll have up to six AI fleet admirals under your command, that will do whatever it takes to carry out your orders when you can't participate in the ongoing campaign personally. And that's going to happen a lot, as the wormhole mechanics that connect different sectors of the galaxy, can force you to manage up to sixteen territories simultaneously. You'll have to pay attention to the smallest detail, even taking care of the supply lines for your outposts. All that, of course, on top of satisfying real-time space battles. MP3 soundtrack included!

Conquer the new frontier, spanning across the entire galaxy, crush the alien races under your heavy terran boot, and forge a Human Empire that will last for millenia in Conquest: Frontier Wars, for only $2.39 on GOG.com! The 60% off discount offer lasts until Tuesday, December 10, at 10:59AM GMT.

Aha! A repeat!

Source code is a very welcome bonus :D
bought, I've been waiting for this one
Nice one!
What the... downloading the "source code" right now and it's bigger than the game itself. Something's telling me that the package is not just a source code. Seems that all the resources are included with that one.

The code folder itself is ~600MB, with 313 MB being the Libs folder. Add another 789MB for the data folder, and it turns out to be quite huge. Do you want a list of the included files?

Nah, I'm already done downloading and it's not urgent at all (odds are that I'll never even take a serious look at it), I was just a little surprised that the package already seems to include (at least nearly) everything you need to build the whole game out of it.
I really appreciate the inclusion of the game source. If I didn't already own this on GOG I'd buy it again!

It's <span class="bold">supposed</span> to contain everything, including all assests, from both C:FW and C2:VU (the failed sequel)

we are releasing everything from both 1 and 2....all assets...have fun.

WM
One question remains, can it legally be put into source code repository (github, google code, sourceforge et al) to create a source code project or is it just for purchasers to fiddle (essentially rendering it useless).

That's quite awesome. I haven't searched online to find out yet, but if there was not already a Linux port for this, there almost certainly will be now I'm sure. :)
Lovely game & promo :)
Source code release is a classy move. This just found its way into my cart. :)
Nice!
It is a good game and at this price it is a steal.
Just out of curiosity.
Let say I grabbed the source code so generously provided by GOG and then developed my "own" game based on that. Now, driven by the hunger for fame, recognition and adoration (and hot girls!) I would like to release it to the public... Am I allowed to monetize my work? Are there any "fees" required and for who?

Of course scenario mentioned above is purely hypothetical. Making a game using source code? Man, I'm unable to code "hello world", even if my life will depends on it :(...
