CD Projekt RED, GOG's sister company and the development studio of the acclaimed The Witcher franchise, has just announced their new game - THE BARD: Saviors of Queens. The adventure is supposed to revolve around an undisclosed poet whose name is yet to be determined.

Following recent video game trends the title will offer a very short and linear story. Almost no gameplay whatsoever and twenty launch DLCs, including a special pink banjo (normally obtainable by finishing a game) and a unicorn mount, will have you stuck in front of your computer screen for minutes. Check out the announcement trailer below and visit http://www.saviors-of-queens.com for even less details.
Bahahaha, I got all excited and then remembered what day it was. Meanies. =P
(Although the tremendous emphasis on sex did seem a little preposterous, even compared to TW1). Anyway, something like this would make an awesome expansion for TW2. I'd love to bash people with a mandolin. =D

Great prank this time, utterly hilarious. Thanks for starting my day off on a good note. =)

I would totally buy this game...

Who doesn't want to beat some bad guy upside the head with a mandolin?
So we have Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Now we have The Bard: Saviours of Queens. Is it just me, or is there a pattern here?
*lol*
Now,...joking apart...if you ever release this game - I`ll buy it.
Best April fools joke I have seen so far today. In fact, I demand that you release this game in place for a Witcher 2 demo. And make it a 800+ MB download for 10 minutes of gameplay.

Hell, it worked for Epic.

Needs a Russian-accented super-boss baddie with an eyepatch though. Then it'd be complete.

And be sure to fill the 800 mb with assorted malware. =)
Wonderful! I love you guys. You make our genre (computer gaming) human, fun, and hip. The way it should be. Kudos!
that music at the end of both videos sounds like they ripped it from UT.. almost..
"The bitch set me up!" Words every man speaks the morning after the nuptials:)

You guys went over the top on the details on this, very funny, the disclaimer text at the end was icing on the cake.
The question is, is it going to be better than the most independent game in the world?

Best of April Fool Day goes to CD PROJECT RED.

Damn that was fun trailer ! :) I'm even more pumped for W2 :)

I laughed when I saw this... then I realised it really is the recent video game trend. Well "recent" for the past 5 years at least. That made me sad.

Darreck: I realize this is an April Fool's Day prank, but please CD, if you ever do a Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition with additional quests and editor, please include this adventure in that pack. Even if it is just a 30 minute mock game, it'd still be awesome.
Seconded. The trailer itself was hilarious. I want my "non-linear male to female interactions" and "mandolin fighting style"! Oh, and for those who didn't notice the scrolling text at the bottom, watch the trailer again; I couldn't catch all of it (tiny font and it does scroll rather quickly) but it has some very funny parodying down there.
I don't know if it's just on my computer, but for me the text at the bottom goes by in literally less than a second, and if I stop the video and go back, it doesn't play in the same place again. If anyone didn't have this problem, care to let me know what it said? =P

Vestin: "Lodówka się zepsuła... again." xD
What does it mean?
Made my day! ;-)
