You were probably too late.

See the time mentioned here?
It was for free, See this news post.

Sorry to say but, you missed it. That (greek) news post is misleading, I agree with you on that part. Of course it doesn't specifically say that the offer ended about at noon today GTM.

GOG isn't responsible for misleading information posted elsewhere. You lucked out. It sucks. But there's not much they can do about it.
thanks for the rapid reply guys.

bad luck. still i hope for GOGs help with this
Hey, I know it sucks, but if there's any consolation, the site has six free games you can download and play. They're all pretty cool.

And, if you join the community on the forums, and have a bit of luck you could win a free game from one of the other users. Some really cool guys are giving away games periodically and most of the time in a creative contest, or just a random pool. So there's no need to be too bitter about this.
because you are either very cheap or have very little money to spend

all ok.

btw, what means "being very cheap"? hope not bad.

the second however stands true. i am from hellas(greece) and you all know what is happening here with those b#@$#$s of IMF along with our traitors.. :-(

It's a personal trait (like optimistic, brutal, dropped-on-the-floor-while-being-born) and holds true for about 3/4 of the user base here. It's not really a bad thing, just something we throw at each other before we get a discount on our games. :)

Join the club. Europe's about to get bitchslapped because fiscal responsibility is something a different government should enforce. But not the current government, oh no. Holds true for every country here it would seem. Whoah, I said too much, don't want to go in there too deep.

My definition of being cheap is you hate spending money but you have money to spend. :) Like a millionaire who doesn't want to buy a GOG for $5.99. He or she is only willing to get it if it is free.

And I didn't mean to make you think of the bad situation in Greece, right now. Sorry for that. And I didn't mean to make everyone go off topic.

I was under the impression Greece fiddled its accounts to gain entry to the EU for the financial gains.

As for the IMF... Im afraid from my perspective they are at the moment Greece's only hope bar defaulting.

Anyway back on track, hopefully a staffer will help you out but it was in white on grey here so why trust a different source?

Help with what? I don't mean to be cruel, but you were too late and that's all there is to it. There was a specific end time to the promotion and that passed. I doubt they'd even be allowed to make an exception because they only had permission from Revolution to give it away free for 48 hours.

Revolution's Beneath a Steel Sky is one of the permanently free games though and I heavily recommend that.

first one true. bad goverments, unethic people-leaders, not the entire population ... i am more frustrated with them than all you outsiders(from other EU countries). but its their job to lie as all politicians do in all countries more or less. our job is to put them back to track by any means.

for the second: default is our only hope. its going to happen. better now that we still own our land and companies. they dont let us default for their interest.

Sorry for the off topic conversation but i had to answer...
IMF are utter crooks. No wonder you are protesting. Probably better to default now anyway than to first hand over your entire country to various foreign banks and still be in shitville. Not to mention "fiscal responsibility" means "let's screw our population by letting the poor and middle class pay for the security of the wealthy's riches".

The way the world dealt with the crisis in 2008 is now, and will over the next years, come back to bite us in the arse big-time.

As to Broken Sword, I've played it a fair bit recently. Quite a fun little game. Been playing the old version for the most part, and just yesterday I realised that I've now come to the beginning of the old game on the new one. So won't bother playing that any more I guess. Thought it was a totally different story at first.

Those first puzzles in the Director's cut didn't make me half frustrated either.....

Also think having the inventory directly available on top of the screen is better than having to open it up first, and then having to hold down the mouse button to drag items. Worked better in the old game actually, which is weird.
