Painkiller
Hmm, good question. I've never really chosen a game to play on Halloween before specifically. Never thought of doing so, although I'm sure I have gamed on the day, just some random game though. :)

I like PainOfSalvation's idea for L4D though. I own both games and only briefly played L4D2. Perhaps I should start off the first one on Halloween to drown out the sound of the 2 people knocking on the door all night so I don't have to open the door and see snow.
I've been eyeing Stasis. Seems to have a very creepy pshychological vibe which is the only kind of horror that works for me.
Oh, and Fishbaits post reminded me to check out some gameplay of Soma.
I want to fight Vampires, Werewolves, Spirits, Demons, witches, wizards, warlocks, zombies, skeletons, undead, humans all in one game.

Clive Barker's Undying.
Hard to say! I don't really celebrate Halloween, but I have quite the little collection of horror games I need to get around to. Corpse Party, maybe, or Knock-knock. Or maybe Lone Survivor? That's been in my backlog for a long time now.
Since Halloween isn't a thing over here I've never played anything for it.
But if there's a nice sale on Corpse Party that would probably suit me.
I'd forgotten about it until BD mentioned it.
nothing in particular since haloween isnt a thing here
but i plan to play Remake HD
resident evil 0
and resident evil 2

seppelfred: I'll probably play Costume Quest again. Sadly part two still isn't available drm-free.
You ain't missing much. I actually liked the first game better.
I am going to be playing through Clive Barker's Undying this month. I might play Five Nights at Freddy's again but I keep hitting the skip code or the ESC key. That game does its job too well.
A combo of Doom 3, Manhunt, and Lemmings.

Lemmings is not scary... but the later levels can be frightening for how punishing they can be difficulty wise.

Did you beg for that game also?
Spirits.
Come to think of it, I've never had a favourite game for halloween time specifically, but if I were to choose some to fit the atmosphere, it would probably be Painkiller, Don't Starve or Clive Barker’s Undying.

At the same time, I do have two games I tend to play during autumn I find more attractive at that time of year for some odd reason - Dungeon Siege 1 (wish I could find a place where to buy the Legends of Aranna expansion I lost years ago) and Might & Magic VIII.

I'm thinking to working on my backlogs and probably Alien: Isolation or Grim Dawn. :/
