Matruchus: Its cause of his Jerkmuter script which is meant to introduce and enforce censorship on gog forums.
Censorship, by definition, means ways for individuals or groups to hide content from other individuals or groups. How did Alaric force you to install his script and then to keep his settings?

DubConqueror: I don't understand why Alaric.us' post gets low-repped for explaining in lay-men's terms what cloudfront.net does. I found it very helpful (I checked my NoScript settings, I have indeed cloudfront.net allowed and now remember doing so years ago when I found out many sites need it to run and I remember having find out for myself it's a performance monitoring tool).

err every modern forum that isn't an outdated POS like GOG has 'ignore' function for users.

Definitely. It takes away freedom of speech.

Eitherway this is my last post on this.

Oh good, now we'll have two of these.

Lukaszmik: ...at least they have the decency not to use their storefront to spoon-feed all the big-name data miner names.
Is that true? I use ghostery and only see 4 trackers on GOG.com which I block.

It's true there are less on Steam (only 1) but I also block it, so the effective number for me is zero for both shops.

self-censorship maybe? Kinda like saying 'I don't trust myself enough to see what someone has typed without getting unnecessarily frustrated and angry over it'. Lol I dunno, just screwing around... nobody takes me seriously XD

Randalator: Yes, but you clearly work for THEM so you can't be trusted.
Wait, the giant ants are back!?! Oh noes, call out the GOGBear Defense Force!

Freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want, it doesn't mean that others have to put up with your bullshit if you'll forgive my bluntness. Similarly, censorship is when someone takes away available information from you, not when someone chooses to ignore information he/she deems unimportant. You should probably figure out what these words mean before you start using them :-P

Maighstir: Well, T.H.E.Y. (and T.H.E.M., they are branches of the same organisation, or they're two names for the same, we're not entirely sure yet, but we're quite certain they're closely connected) do have undercover spies among us. This should be common knowledge, didn't you get that information in your introduction package?
Ah, I pro-actively exploded the introductory package as it looked suspicious.

Didn't T.H.E.Y take the W.E.E at somepoint? And I remember U.S being quite opposed to T.H.E.M at some point recently, but is suppose that S.L.A.P must have made it T.H.U.S?

That's a very strange definition of censorship.

If I do not read someone's posts, they are still free to post what ever they want - so their freedom of speech is not invalidated. Likewise, you are free to read whatever carp they post, so your rights are also not invalidated.

While freedom of speech is a human right, so is also the choice to read what you want.

You yourself can not read everything published, so whenever you make a choice, follow a particular author, listen to a particular person, there is someone else you can not read/listen to , and this is a choice you have taken, prioritised. The right and ability to do so is just as much an important human right as being allowed to say what you want.... it just means that people may not listen to you.

If you are telling me I do not have the freedom to ignore who I want to, then..... that is in itself a type of policing my media and daily life, which is closer to censorship than what you said

It's a lost cause. People who didn't do well in school routinely confuse the right to free speech with some imaginary right to be heard. It's cool, though, I don't mind the downvotes. I'm a map collector, not an internet points collector.

Things may get a bit more annoying when your rep gets below a certain point as you can no longer post links.
Somewhere between 0 and 10.
