Breja: Well, there was a whole russian sequel trilogy to the Lord of the Rings (and I bet Peter Jackson would love to get his hands on that), so this is hardly surprising.
Dalswyn: The Last Ringbearer?
Here's the english translation. ;) No, that is the "alternate version" of LotR sort of "what if all we knew was elvish propaganda. But there is a whole trilogy The Ring of Darkness by Nik Pierumow which tries to be an actuall sequel. Funny enough, it's not that bad as far as post-Tolkien high fantasy goes (or at least that's how I remeber it, I read when I was like 15 or something), it's just terrible as a sequel to LotR. If you ignore the names and pretend it's just some other generic D&D style setting it's ok. At least the first two books, the third one gets really batshit crazy. I mean even more crazy than a "russian sequel to LotR" already implies. Saruman gets reincarnated as a talking dog, and that's just for starters.
Strangly enough both the Last Ringbearer and Ring of Darkness were published in Poland, I have no idea how that worked.
