You steal from the people making/selling the games then pay for the games when you feel like it, on sale. Then you feel GOG owes you excellent customer support (which appears they gave you but you didn't notice), and come here to flame them on the forum.

I dont sell the games I pirate. I simply use them until the game is discounted to 1/4 the original price, then buy it. if i hate the game i delete it and never use it again. Which is perfectly fine.

And GOG does owe each and every person who uses this site and is a paying customer in any capacity "excellent customer support". Thats how this whole business thing works. If i buy something and it doesnt work, i can demand customer support. Which they didnt give. They told me to use a file and failed to give precise directions as to where it was or its existance. And i had to wait 5 days in between support tickets. And have sent two in. That to me is pathetic. They deserve to be flamed, and honestly it will be a long time until i buy another game from GOG.

The fact i pirate games as a sort of beta(to see if i like the game before wasting precious dollars on it) is none of GOG's business, nor should it impact my customer service for games I HAVE PAYED FOR. I shouldnt have to expect anything less.

And people should be smart enough to realize that before making bold faced, not-at-all-subtle remarks about their moral ethics in gaming habits.

And GOG.com failed to mention that a fix would even be needed in the first place at any point on Witcher I - Enhanced Edition's purchase, at the cart, or its menu. They didn't mention something they definitely knew about, considering its a huge window under their support page and they have an entire section devoted to fixing this one bug. They did not clearly warn the purchaser such an issue existed, and yet was glad to take their money. That to me seems like it's GOG's issue. Not Mine.

So no, there was no contradiction. I DO feel lied to. I DO feel cheated. And I DO feel ripped off. I don't contradict myself. EVER.

Think before you attempt to insult someone please.

But really though, thanks for the help. You earned a thank you. So thank you. I hope you go on to do great things.

Defil3d3500: Since GOG support has refused to help, and is feeding me this message : "Hello

Please make sure that you are adding the "-dontForceMinReqs" to the correct file, it ill not work with the default shortcut.

Please go to the game's directory (default: C:\GOG Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut), open the "System" folder, here you will find the "witcher.exe" file, right click it and select to Create shortcut.
Right click the newly created shortcut, select Properties, add the -dontForceMinReqs parameter to the Target field.
Example the Target field:
"C:\GOG Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut\System\witcher.exe" -dontForceMinReqs"
Please notice the above quote, which you provided, which is the exact fix provided for you here. You just didn't read GOG's message to you.

The plain truth is that you steal, excuse yourself by calling it a beta or a demo, although no owner of that property ever gave you permission to use it. On top of that, you then pick and choose what you decide to pay for on a deep discount. That is wrong, you should stop doing it.
This guy.

wants to pirate shit and wonders why is computer won't work.

Yeah, those hackers are cracking DRM because they are just gosh darn really nice people and they only want you to have free games.

darkness58ec: lol..... ok. Some sort of contradiction here.

Anyway, credit where credit is due, GOG support actually told you first, specifically, that the witcher.exe was in your system folder and that you needed to open your system folder.

As to your other question regarding hd textures, others in this thread seem to have answered it.

Edit: ok.... put it in your override folder, like mike_cesara has said. C:/Users/SYSADMIN/Desktop/Witcher I - Enhanced Edition/Data\Override

Defil3d3500: Im not really seeing any contradiction. How is the fact i pirate games GOG's problem? I still buy the games i feel should be supported. Albeit at a seriously discounted price several months later, but i still buy them.

Im gonna try adding in the mod. Gimme a sec.
Absolutely. You should try that with a car dealer sometime. "Hey I'm going to take this brand new Challenger that costs $30,000 then pay for it later when its only worth $15,000."
Not a perfect analogy, but what the hey.
Entitled much? If, like me, you can't afford to buy the games you want when they release, then guess what? You wait to play the game until you can afford it. Unsure about the quality of a game? Try a demo (not likely anymore!), read a review, ask a friend, watch a let's play, anything.
Games are a hobby and a luxury item, not a Constitutional guarantee.

No its not. And youd know that if at all read my post. I didn't steal the game. I bought it from GOG.com.

According to mail you posted in the OP, they did provide you the correct location of the file which was in the 'System' folder. You were incorrectly adding the parameter to the 'launcher, exe' file instead of 'witcher.exe'. So the instructions were clear from the support and they can't be blamed for not helping in this case.

Sometimes the support takes a longer time to respond but sending new tickets won't help as it pushes them to the back of the queue. GOG customer support is quite good as compared to other digital distribution stores and does not deserve to be lambasted like this when the error was at the user end with your inability to follow the helpful instructions.

Your a moron. My PC works fine. Infact due to the help of darkness58ec, i got it up and running fine. The issue here isnt my PC. Its GOG's terrible support. And apparently our differing ethics in terms of what is and isnt right and wrong for PC gaming.

I didn't fail anything. It was GOG's support not being clear enough with a fix.
Why is my REP changing? And what does it do?

No it is not. Theres a combination of things going on there. English not being my first language being one, and the second being that i simply don't care enough to correct typos or add a ' at certain points because im used to using "text chat" unless im working on one of my fanfics i like to write in my spare time.

Anyway ive been super distracted correcting people and defending myself morally, so im going to try putting in the texture mod now.
