Great to see all these games show up. And thanks for another free title!

Wish we could get RCT3 back of course.

The main releases I'd be interested from Atari would be the Hasbro Interactive ones, and they've mostly got licensing issues. Wish Tommo/Retroism would finally release the missing Humongous games they got from Atari here. :P (And I think Tommo got "Zapper: One Wicked Cricket")

Based on all the negativity, I don't know if it'll have been worthwhile for GOG to bring X-Blades, but I'm glad they did.

NuffCatnip: If anybody thinks of getting X-Blades, don't, or at least watch a gameplay video before your purchase.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: And how does one go about doing that, exactly?

When I try to search youtube for X-Blades, very few videos come up, and none of them are about the HD version.

So I have no idea how to see an example of what you are talking about.
Just watch a gameplay video of the original game, the HD version is pretty much the same game. The only difference I registered while playing was them cranking up effects like bloom to eleven. Even the textures look the same.

Enemy AI has pathfinding issues, it gets stuck on objects like pots and pillars at times.
The 'gameplay' consists of spamming the left mouse button to melee attack enemies until you have enough mana to spam magic. Rinse and repeat. There is no strategy involved, besides using guns or magic for projectile shooting enemies. They either hold their distance or run up on you to attack you occasionally.

Some spells have small cutscenes (some are 6 seconds long and do almost no damage) and instead of staggering the enemy you hit, they run at you immediately, while you still recover/are unable to move for about a second.

There is so much wrong with this game, but sadly it's not the 'so bad it's good' type of bad, it's simply bad. This game is held together by duct tape and it is obvious. I think the devs weren't given a lot of time to push this title out, which is a shame as Gaijin Entertainment apparently has a talented team of developers.

I'm pretty sure some will like it, but if you're fond of games like the Onimusha series or the Devil May Cry games this will be an utter disappointment.

vv221: This is the reason we give them money in the first place…
avatar
BreOl72: Funny, I thought I give them money in exchange for games they already have on offer.
It looks like we are agreeing here: in order to get our money, GOG must first secure the rights to the games they want to sell us. I took a shortcut in my previous post, but this is the only thing I meant here ;)

If they don’t work on convincing publishers they get no new games to sell, and do not get our money.

MaxFulvus: So Blades of Time is more a reboot ? Also, is the GOG version really HD, because there is no Steam HD version ? Maybe 4K support ?
Yeah, reboot/spititual successor.

As far as I can tell, it has higher quality pre-rendered cutscenes, some post-processing effects and widescreen support compared to the original. No idea if Steam version is the same though....

Always wanted to play 40 Winks, but I think I rather just emulate it with ePSXe as this port doesn't look promising at all.

Airborne Ranger on the other hand looks awesome and it goes to the wishlist until some heavy discount since the base price is super ridiculous for something so old.

All in all, happy to see new OLD releases.
Is "Sorcerer Lord" a good game?

And please, can someone tell me a little bit more about it. Gameplay wise? :-)

Is it possible to use actively magic to change the result of battles?

The short gameplay video is... not very helpful.

ssling: It was possibly first ever giveaway on GOG, around 2010. Other than that I don't know what P-E-S means.

Cavalary: Actually given away, not in exchange for purchases, exactly once, Sep 2011: http://web.archive.org/web/20111001105140/gog.com/en/news/milestone_achieved_free_broken_sword_for_everyone
Thanks for the info. :)

Yeah, Frontier is very Denuvo-friendly to this day, though surprisingly RCT3 CE on Steam is DRM-free like the original was.
Bummer. Looks like the X-Blades discount wasn’t for the duration of the Sale. The wording of this thread reads as though all discounts would last the duration of the Sale, and it seems so far all of them are with the exception of X-Blades. :(
Thanks Revolution software and GOG for the Broken Sword giveaway. The Broken Sword series is one of my favourite and have all the hard copies as well. Glad the original is also included.

What's weirder is that I'm still seeing it on the front page under 'Featured Winter Sale deals'. Perhaps someone entered a wrong number somewhere.
