Sheershaw: An extra 10% discount on a $30 game ultimately amounts to $3. DRM-Free backup installers are ultimately worth more than the piddling savings you get from a DRM'd store.
If only it were 10% for most people. The price difference for many countries is much more than 10%.

Nah. Still no interest in spending a dime on the site, until you address your faux pas of censoring your customer base. Even a simple "Yeah we shouldn't have done that!" will suffice.

Lucian_Galca: Same with Tunic, and when it does go on sale, it's sale is less than other stores with gog's 20% off vs 30% elsewhere. I'd like to keep buying from gog, but the lackluster sales and many games continuing to be out of date on updates are driving me to other stores. Gog just hasn't been the same since about the mid 2010's.

That excuse doesn't fly, especially when it's not the only or even worst example on gog, and especially with the management really cutting corners on the site in recent years.

Good for you. It's nice to know that these forms never change. :) You can always leave. No one is forcing you to buy anything on GOG.

fionnula: I know it's largely beyond GOG's control, since publishers choose their own discounts, but it's unfortunate that many publishers seem to pick a discount percentage and stick to it forever. You can almost predict game by game what the discount percentage will be as you scroll down your wishlist - same as every other sale. My wishlist contains lots of very old games in the 25%-40% discount range that refuse to go any deeper, year after year.

Still, an amazing sale for anyone who's joined recently and hasn't yet bought the classics.
I still managed to find something I want on sale. Finally picked up Tron 2.0 and Parkitect.

It's probably already been said, but wow, Mirror's Edge -90% / $2 is cool. :) (not as cool as fresh EA releases on GOG would be, but still ;)

Also it looks like Boltgun needs a game specific forum.
I approve of this winter sale! So far we already have one good release, one good freebie, and quite a lot of new discounts.

I feel so tired: ...

ciemnogrodzianin: Nice picks. I'd add these:
• Jade Empire -90%
• Comanche -90%
• Yooka-Laile and the Impossible Lair -90%
• Bee Simulator -90%
• Lego DC Super-Villains -90%
If you do not like hard games Yooka-Laile and the Impossible Lair is not for you. I felt betrayed by the game because the last level is much more difficult than the 95% of the game. I cannot remember any other game with such difficulty spike. Up until that point the game is easy and can be recommended to children.

The funny thing is that the developers tried to lower the difficulty of the last level in a patch but I see no real difference. So as the title says impossible lair is almost impossible :)
Thank you for the free game Goblinz Studio and GOG.

Thanks! I didn't see by myself and it is the perfect time to buy it.

+1
I would also like to thank Goblinz Studio and GOG for the free game.

Regarding the giveaway, it contains DRMed content (and some ad nonsense from the developers). And i'm quoting here the store page:

Newsletter

SUBSCRIBE TO GET AN EXCLUSIVE MONSTER

Can confirm that there is no offline installer for this content, nor DLC available!

And it's not the first time i've seen this newsletter BS! Forced Showdown has a similar unwanted DRM function in place except it's much worse since it locks most of the in game cosmetics behind subscription! The following "free" DLCs are unobtainable by normal metods, despite clearly being recorded in gog database:

https://www.gogdb.org/product/1305424194

https://www.gogdb.org/product/1131717045

https://www.gogdb.org/product/1680503839

Note this was years before the controversial "my rewards". And lastly my rewards themselves! I don't know what kind of game gog is playing but i don't like it. DRM-free is DRM-free there's no middle ground!

Only a 50% discount on my wishlist game, when the lowest is clearly at least 75%. Now how could I buy it knowing this? I cannot.

On the other hand, 80% on another, more recent wishlist game and its lowest price so far for an offline experience? That, that I will buy.

Missed one, but hit another. Happy holidays to you too, GOG.

Extend the sale for a few hours to catch up with people's income : D Thanks for a free game, hunting for good deals, a lot to play for under 5 quid... sending ❄ and warm 🍇

Ancient-Red-Dragon: Still no discount on Terminator: Resistance, as always.
Just sent an email to the publisher about it .

You will buy me a game from my Gog wishlist if the publisher put the game and the DLC on sale during this winter sale . =))
