Hi. :) Galaxy is displayed as a default option to install your game (explicitly), because the game may be developed to use some Galaxy features - like Cloud Saves.

If you don't need it, you can always check out the "Download offline backup game installers" option below, after you open the game in your games list.

It's not that we want to push for more % of our existing users to use Galaxy. If more % wouldn't want or need to use Galaxy for their gaming - while understanding what they are doing - that's OK with us. We just want the perfect experience with automatically updated game, multiplayer, achievements etc. for the users. Game devs also want to provide all of these for their players on GOG.

If we would say something like "here's the game with Galaxy" and "oh, here's the same game without Galaxy" users could misunderstand and think they'll get something better (no extra software) with the bare game installers.

Galaxy will remain optional. :)

As a Galaxy team member, I'm happy that you have the options to play your games without Galaxy, if that makes you happy. :)
