My GOG Galaxy is set to order my games by Title. I never change this, because that is the way I always found it easier to find the game I want to play.

HOWEVER: lately -- at least since the last two weeks or so -- every day I open Galaxy, I find the games re-ordered in some other fashion, even though the ordering is still set to be "By Title" and NO new games have been added since the previous time I opened the program!
And as a result, every day I have a hard time finding the game I want to play, even if it's the game that I last played the day before!

So here is my request/suggestion to the GOG staff: Please, please, pretty please with a bunch of cherries on top STOP EFFING AROUND with the way my games are ordered because it's annoying and IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!

I believe this is the thread you're looking for:

Hope this helps.
It's a known bug that's been talked about in the thread which drmike linked.
Odd title for a thread about this issue. But I'll have a look there. Thanks

No one has opened a thread with a list of threads on this topic? Lol
I hope they get rid of it quickly because it's a rather annoying bug.

Well you do know what musical chairs are? I think it fits perfectly except for the part where one chair (game) gets taken away after each shuffle

The problem is that this joke works only for english people, I suppose other countries have different names for this game.

And I understand that, I'm polish and I'm pretty sure "Muzykalne krzesla" doesn't make any sense to Poles.

I've heard that "elsewhere" they took away the chair's cushion because of expired rights to sell it together with the chair...

No but someone had a listing of every thread that they were copying and pasting to every thread.

I think they gave up.

Precisely, thank you! When I'm searching threads for one that explains how my games are not properly ordered, I don't consider typing phrases related to music, chairs, or any games that might kind of resemble the phenomenon. So "musical chairs" is not the kind of title that will appear when I perform a search.

And indeed, due to roughly 40 years of practice I'm reasonably proficient in my use of the English language, but it's not my native tongue. If someone uses the phrase "musical chairs", I know what it means. But the literal Dutch translation "muzikale stoelen" would be totally meaningless. Instead, we would say "stoelendans"; literally "chairs dance". If I had described the bug as a chairs dance, nobody would've understood. EVERYONE would have wondered whether I had been sniffing glue or something... :)

Then don't.

Start with this page:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general

Page Down Key.

Next Page link.

As of last count, there's 18 threads all within the last few days, most of them without the silly title.

The musical chairs thread was simply the first one created and contains one of the posts saying staff has acknowledged the problem which is why we've been pointing folks to it.

Hope this helps

Wait a minute, in Galaxy? What about the games listed on the leftside, are they randomized, too? Those are your installed games. So when you are looking for a game you played the day before, it's probably listed there which should be a shorter list than your whole game library.

Also, if you can remember the name of it, then there's a search feature for the leftside with your installed games, and also another search feature for your games library. Near the top left of those areas, just like on the website on the store page or your games library. And for your wishlist, too.

Even if you only sort of remember the name, the search feature could still be helpful because you don't have to type the whole name. And I think the search results update instantly without having to click a button or press the return/enter key.

I haven't used Galaxy in a long time, but that's what I recall.

The joke works also for french people (I'm french, no one is perfect), this game is called "Chaises musicales".
