mrkgnao: The dates are March 3, 2016 and March 29, 2016. I'm sure we won't be disappointed, speaking for ourselves.
This sounds like a time machine joke that arrived 11 days too late.

Anyway this OP sure doesn't speak for me, because I've had an amazingly fun time shopping here over the last few months. I've bought almost nothing from Steam this year by comparison, although that's mainly due to me wishlisting big-budget Japanese games with intimidating pricetags.

MacArthur: What's this chinese list about ? I never heard of that.
avatar
mrkgnao: This.
Thanks. Totaly missed that. Warcraft and diablo make it highly doubtful to be honest...
avatar
tfishell: Huh, well, imo it's still surprising it still hasn't shown up by now, unless EA/Origin got another timed exclusive deal for their Access release of it. Hopefully GOG can still get a decent number of purchases after all this time.

OH SHIT SON. I trust you so that's awesome to hear! I want to believe the list that the Chinese guy posted is true too, but you'd know better than me. I *want* to believe Black & White would show up here, but "Expanded Edition" sounded a little fishy unless it is equivalent to "Black and White Deluxe".

I'm inclined to believe it because of the paragraph at the bottom of the o.p., and the fact that GOG has come so far anyway, but I can understand the skepticism, especially since there are some games missing from that which we know are coming.

SeduceMePlz: I'd guess that "hipsters" in this context means the "GOG can do no wrong" crowd. Perhaps "fanboys" would have been the better word.

Dude seems to be a loyal GOGer (member since 2009), and he's not being excessively rude or obnoxious (just seems a bit frustrated to me), so how about some of you guys cut him a bit of slack?

To some extent, I feel the same as he does, tho GOG has released just enough good stuff lately to keep me satisfied. I'd certainly like to see more of the big-name stuff make it here. Let's hope SCPM is right about Bloodlines and some other goodies from Activision coming soon.
I think GOGgers should cut more slack for newbies who just ask benign questions and who don't understand how things run around here. Some of the posts I've seen have been far too rude.

Perhaps the o.p. here doesn't know how long it can take GOG to get some games. (Granted, before the 2K flood I'd probably be more inclined to agree with him, since the start of 2016 had - imo - been a letdown compared to 2015.)

nate1222: I'm gonna piss of alotta hipsters here, but here goes...

Over the past couple of months, many of GOG's offerings have been boring 'simulations', point-n-click games, or indie games featuring pixel art yet AAA hardware requirements. The likes of Nuclear Throne is a great exception, and getting Turok and Quake III Gold are awesome (in spite of their price). However, we have yet to see more games of a Far Cry ilk or a Divinity Dragon Commander ilk hit GOG.

With Bethesda bringing their back-catalog to GOG, where the Hell is Oblivion? It's damn near 10 years old! Quake IV is practically two generations old! Where's Quake IV?

Torchlight II (Win/Mac/Linux) has been on Humble Store twice and DRM-free! Where the Hell is Torchlight II?

I'm really starting to wonder here...
I'm 99% sure that if the gog team just needs to press a button to make all the Bethesda games appear in store they would. I would not even be surprised if they already have everything already set up to actually just press a button to release them. We just need Bethesda to finally wake up and give the OK. Until then they release games we want too ;)

It'll be a while before GOG is capable of managing free to play games. What they really need are online exclusives more than AAA's and single player exclusives/same day launches. They also need to work on bringing classic movies to their catalogue. I know it deterred them to see 5 total sales on college indie shit that their curator thought "wasn't niche at all", but that section is really where one of their biggest sellers to the general public will be. "The only place to download DRM-Free movies at high quality from major companies!" & "Classics you can't find anywhere else!"

They should have done all of this when TW3 hype was on. Now they have to wait on the next wave.

What we really want is One Must Fall: 2097 as a freebie!

I had a list of threads where newbs were blasted into the negative rep for being a bit clueless or just airing complaints in a civil way. Most never come back after that 'welcome'. Can't find the file right now; might be on USB stick, and I don't feel like hunting for it.

Dumb shit should be called out, and for more egregious posts that can be rightly snarky, but there's an undercurrent around here that seems all too eager to the cross the line from gentle correction to "dogpile mf-ing gangbang" at the slightest opportunity. (Not saying that's what happened here, just that I was worried it might.)

Yeah I can't really explain that one away :P I was chocking some of that up to errors of some kind or another. The "NOTE : With many titles submitted to CD-Projekt Red ..." text made it seem legit, but I suppose someone trolling could have just edited in the true list with bullshit. (I was/am almost ready to believe GOG could strike a deal with Blizzard for Warcraft 1 at least.)

Here's kind of where I stand - if Warlords 1 and/or 2 isn't here by the end of May (one of the more realistic guesses imo), we can perhaps call the list bullshiz.

My investment is mostly just wanting to see GOG get more highly-desired games here, to continue growing and getting more market share.
Here's the list i compiled 4 years ago and updated 18 months ago :

Carmageddon + Splat Pack + Carmageddon 2
Carmageddon TDR 2000
Nocturne
Blair Witch Project Bundle (Volumes 1,2 and 3)
Road Rash
Need For Speed Bundle (1 + SE, 2 + SE, 3 ,4)
Monkey Island Bundle (1-2-3)
Quest For Glory Bundle (+ remakes)
Full Throttle
Day Of The Tentacle
Sam And Max Hit The Road
Mortal Kombat Bundle (1,2,3, Trilogy and 4)
Worms Armageddon
Discworld Bundle (I , II , Noir)

Powerslave
Strife
Bug!
Lomax
Machine Hunter
The Grinch
Ecstatica
Ecstatica 2
Shadow Warrior
Flashback
Witchaven
Hexen
Quake
Quake II
Heretic
Heretic 2
Ignition
Sin
City Of Lost Children
level 9 bundle ( adventure games)
Screamer
Screamer 2
Shadowlands (1992 http://homeoftheunderdogs.net/game.php?id=966)
Shakii The Wolf
Sink Or Swim
Prehistorik 1 & 2
Titus The Fox
Spirit Warrior
FX Fighter
Test Drive Bundle (1-4)
TOCA Touring Car Championship
Destruction Derby 1 & 2
Toonstruck
Trial By Magic
GEX
Nicky Boom
Jill In The Jungle
Nightmare Creatures
Comix Zone
Black Dahlia
Ripper (the adventure game) [/i]

the following are the last games i can think of :

Black Dahlia
System Shock
Take No Prisoners
Black And White
Clive Barker's Undying
Call Of Ktulhu
Loom
Down in the Dumps
The 2 painkiller add-ons
Vampire the Masquarade : Bloodlines]
Zyclunt (or Blade Warrior in some countries)

Of which we had :

Clive Barker's Undying
GEX
Screamer
Screamer 2
Sin
Shadow Warrior
Sam And Max Hit The Road
Quest For Glory Bundle
Carmageddon + Splat Pack
Carmageddon 2
Monkey Island 1
Monkey Island 2
Quake
Quake 2
Prehistorik 1
Prehistorik 2
Day of the Tentacle
Worms Arnageddon
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (1,2 and 3)
Loom
System Shock
and
System Shock 2.

So they haven't brought all the games that I want, but they've done a really good job.
Notice that most games we got and were in my list, were in the highest spot in the Wishlist of GOG.
Games like the Blair Witch Series, Machine Hunter, Ecstatica and The Grinch are low.

So i'd say GOG has done a really good job as far as i'm concerned.

I'd say with this sort of third-hand "information", it's always a good idea to treat it as bullshit Internet speculation until and unless it's thoroughly validated, if for no other reason than to save yourself a lot of self-inflicted disappointment when it turns out GOG's NOT getting Skyrim and WarCraft. ; )

I sure hope for some cool high profile releases too. I would totally give my right h.. left.. totally give like up to 40 bucks for Skyrim here (no body part sacrifices, sorry).

But unless we get info from either some gog.com/CD-Pr. official source and/or dev/puplisher official source I think its healthier to call anything else BS.

SCPM: I happen to know Activision's going to be releasing some more titles here in the future, including Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. I would provide the proof, but GOG has been obnoxiously good at plugging holes in the site as I find them, so I don't want to kill the golden goose this time.
More Activision games on GOG? Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

I guess those are reserved for Saints Row IV?

Naw, far better to whip up a froth of speculation which will leave lots of people bitter in the near-inevitable case that they were just being led on. ;)
(The shitty thing about this particular case is how plausible a lot of the games were. Even if half of them never come at all, and the other half arrive spread out over the next few years -- most nowhere close to the time frame in which they were slated for release according to that list -- people will still look at the ones that the mystery hoax artist got right and say, "Well, clearly they were working with at least SOME insider info, because A, G, H, P and X showed up here almost exactly when they predicted!" -- A.K.A. the Nostradamus effect.)
