F4LL0UT: Darwinia is hardly a strategy game. It's an amazing experience, IMO, but it's not a deep or particularly challenging game. It's more like an extremely light version of Cannon Fodder (the developers don't hide the fact that they were inspired by Cannon Fodder, btw - the game has random intro sequences and one of them is an obvious Cannon Fodder reference).
Interesting! Thanks for the info - that might very well push it up the list :)

Technically, mine would be Icewind Dale - I bought the D&D pack and this is the "last" title listed in that. IWD was sort of icing on the cake - I bought the pack to immediately play a few of the games and knew some of the others would be on the backburner for the foreseeable future.

If I count playing the games I wanted to play in the D&D bundle as "D&D bundle played," next up would be Magrunner, but that was a freebie.

The oldest still unplayed game I bought would then be... Anachronox. I always wanted it and never picked it up on release. Not sure why I haven't fired it up yet to be honest.

I really like this thread by the way!

budejovice: My first purchase was during a large sale in September 2013. In addition to the freebies, I bought, and have not yet
-Amnesia - The Dark Descent
You should play this, pronto! It's not even one of my usual genres of choice (horror puzzler / adventure I suppose?), but I had a blast playing this one. It's a very good game, and doesn't really require a huge investment of time so it's not a bad one to pick up and play next time you're looking for a game but unsure what to go with.

Noted! I have considered starting it several times. My backlog registers as one of the worst of all times, though. :( I have acquired over 1000 games in this last year. Mostly GOG, then I got into the bundle game...

Sinistar has me starting Eldritch this weekend. I have gifts from Hyper that MUST get started.

Nevertheless... Noted! :)

I've seen Sinistar make mention of Eldritch every now and then and get very jealous. I hope that one ends up here some day as all the descriptions he's given make it sound like something right up my alley. Do play it and torture me some more with details ;)

Will do!

Just FYI, though not here, it is available DRM-free, at least from Humble where I grabbed it, I think during the winter sale.
On GOG, and excluding the freebies: "In cold blood" (July 13, 2011) followed by "XIII" (August 19, 2012)...
Sometimes in drunk I always like to say Stonekeep. And I once again say it. It is hard game.
SpaceChem, bought 04.07.2012. I'm not sure why, I like puzzle games. Maybe it reminds me too much of my real life work but on the other hand I've finished Prelogate within two or three days and I had a real blast playing it.
Shattered Steel, Sept 11, 2008. Though I have older games on the backlog before gog...
Independence War.. both of them. . . . . or is there 3

Never even installed or tried them.. but the installers are still collecting dust on my HD

In fact.. I probably have 5-6 more flight simms I bought here the same thing...I bought x-wing alliance the day it came out and never even tried it yet.. wtf

Think my problem is I like collecting games more than playing them.. No, I use my time mostly modding ES and FO and then creating my own crap on different engines.. Cryengine, Unity.. etc..

Then of course chasing small children around the local parks dressed like a clown is always fun.....
My shameful confession is: Icewind Dale (Nov 13, 2014). Yeah, I'm a big newbie. :P

On steam it's Orcs Must Die 2 (Dec 14, 2013). I loved the first one but never got around to playing the second one.
Not counting the free games, my oldest GOG games not even installed yet are Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics, bought 29 june 2011. Having a 'backlog' didn't even properly start back then.

Before GOG existed, I bought second hand copies of Might and Magic VI, VII and VIII on CD, of which I haven't yet installed Might & Magic VII 'For Blood and Honor'.

Besides games never yet installed, there's also lots of games I haven't proceeded past the tutorial yet. Oldest of these - before GOG existed - is the disc-version of Warhammer - Mark of Chaos.

There were days when the only way to circumvent DRM was piracy, instead of buying DRM-free, but I won't mention a past rather forgotten.
GOG: Divine Divinity, since February 2014 or so.
Overall: Final Fantasy III since about February 2009. (I'm pretty sure there's something older, but by that point I am probably just never gonna beat it.)
on GoG...

jagged alliance: deadly games

bought 2010. I dont even know what its about, I only know I seem to not want to even touch it. heh
First I wanted to say "Starflight" because it`s from 1986, but then i realized that Ultima 4 is from 1985, so it is the oldest game I have.
Played both when they came out.

Edith says:
I totally forgot Akalabeth, this is even older than Ultima 4, it`s Ultima 0.1, It`s from 1980. :-)
