I have just noticed today that one of last days my rep went from 9 to -8. I haven't been very active last weeks, so I don't really understand.

Maybe I could have any... feedback about where or what... went suddenly so wrong ?

Generally, when there are some kind of sanctions, it is better to tell people why and when so they will better comply to rules next time, no ?

Rep is totally meaningless, and downvoting is often just used by some people to vent frustration, or just troll. It's a broken, easily exploited system that should haven been removed long ago. As things stand, the only rational thing to do is to ignore it.

If you haven't been active lately, could be that some knob decided to downvote older posts of yours for whatever reason. Far as I know, downvoted posts are the only way for you to lose rep. Most people claim to not even care about rep anymore these days; only downside is you can't post links when below a certain threshold. Thing is, there aren't any rules as such. Rep depends on your posts and other users' reaction to it. You get +1 for every day you make a post, +5 (I think) for answering a Question topic - and when one of your posts gets as far as "low rated", you lose (dunno how much).

Basically, it doesn't matter and there's not really a way to find out how you lost rep, unless you want to dig through all your old posts. There's even a workaround for the "no links" thing.

A quick search found several replies to your posts, but those posts of yours no longer exist. It suggests that they were downvoted and marked as spam by a number of accounts... Reasons: unknown to me.

It's a reference to fight club, talking about rep usually has the opposite of the desired effect.

I don't come that often, and the little number of posts I do gets me bad rep without knowing why or getting warned.
And nearly all my posts get deleted ??

That is quite a very bad experience for new users (I have only started to use GOG recently).

Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about internet bullies that use their excessive free time and multible accounts to pick on people unfortunately. Only thing you can hope for is they get tired of picking you and picks someone else to downrep eventually. If they stop, you'll get back to positives eventually.

Only harmful effects of negative reps are, as far as I know, that you can't post links (requires certain amount of positive rep, an anti-spambot feature) and you can't participate in giveaways that have positive rep requirements.

Also it looks like you made fun of someone for having low rep. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but that certain someone is pretty much the reason this forum went from being Eden to a shit hole overnight, so it's your bad luck to end up giving crap to him.

Have you had any altercations with scammers?
Have you expressed any political views which seemed to disagree with the majority of the thread?
If yes on either of those, there's what happened. Some people get really angry, employ alts or scripts, and go on serial downrepping campaigns.

Don't worry yourself over it, though. Rep has been abused so badly, nobody cares about it anymore. As long as you're a decent person, we'll know and not think any lesser of you because of some stupid number.

I'm a collosal dickhead and look at my rep. Don't worry about it.
