Up to 80% off Deadly Premonition, Hotline Miami, Jazzpunk, and more!

Video games can be so weird sometimes, you know? Talking animals are standing at every corner, inventories defy space limitations, and gravity has little authority in there. Thus, it takes a special brand of surrealism to astound players, yet some games manage to pull it off in spectacular, mind-boggling fashion. Sure, you can proclaim The Voices Made Me Play It! if you want, but we both know that you thoroughly enjoyed it. And how couldn't you, when these Weekly Staff Pick include some of the most brilliantly offbeat games out there, with intoxicating discounts sprinkled on top.

Are you sure you wish to call Hotline Miami? There is unapologetic brutality, ruthless top-down combat, and satisfying bloodshed waiting for you on the other end. Exactly what you were looking for, you say? Well then, get in there and spread some mayhem. We'll just lock the door from the outside, if that's alright.

Do you also sometimes have a Deadly Premonition that you'll get hacked in half by a raincoat-wearing psycho when you go around asking questions about a beautiful girl's death? Or is detective York just imagining things? There's definitely something odd going on in this cult action/adventure but you must get your brain to squint if you are to piece the mystery together.

Take the blue pill and it will be just another day in the office. Take the red pill and everybody will think of you as a Jazzpunk: secret agent man, champion of bizarre mini-games, and appreciator of psychedelic art - a model employee. As long as you don't skip on that prescription your boss gave you.

Follow our Weekly Staff Pick down the rabbit hole and feel free to admit The Voices Made Me Play It. Some of those enigmatic whispers belong to Psychonauts, Dropsy, Dyad, or Revolver360 Re:Actor and will lead you to extraordinary places. Definitely a lot better than spending a wild night with a giant fish by the sewers, anyway. The promo will last until February 19, 10:59 AM GMT.

Tenar: I think Fran Bow would have been great for this particular promo, that game is amazing and weird as hell.
Or Edna and Harvey...

Gengar78: Did deadly premonition ever get the latest patch? According to the wishlist entry I made it did, but I'm not sure...

Edit: According to MarkoH01 it did get the latest patch:

Can also confirm that it did, but GOG apparently forgot to mention it.

NuffCatnip: Heard the second Hotline Miami is considered bad compared to the first one, is that true ?
Will get it after watching a gameplay video (if I like it of course).

Was waiting for Jazzpunk, but I´ll wait for a higher discount.
I've played through the first and second Hotline Miami and both have different points. The game mechanics are exactly the same for both.
In the first one you unlock different masks/characters which give you different abilities through the game. As you progress you will have a good variety of masks to choose from and you unlock different weapons as well. But the story is weak and not a focal point of the game.
In the second one, you will get less masks/characters to choose from and sometimes you will be forced to play as a certain character. Some of the characters you are forced to play as have limited abilities and this is one off the reasons that the second one is more difficult. The limited selection of characters/masks are linked with the story. And speaking about the story, the story in the second one is more developed and clears things up from the first one. Also the levels are harder than the first one. I like the music in both games, but I like the music in the first one better.
If you enjoyed the first one I think you'll enjoy the second one too especially when the second one has a better story. I think people who didn't like the first one was because it was too hard for them. But don't let it discourage you. Plan a good strategy and you can beat the levels. Most people will try to run their way through, but that is the worst way to play the game. I really enjoyed both games and I hope you will try and enjoy the second one.

Azhdar: Is Deadly Premonition a top horror game?
There's nothing remotely scary about it...except ofc the amount of bugs.

Well, the latter two games games have got a heavy discount right now, so you can just imagine they're part of the promo. :P

That's of course true. That's why I was suggesting Harvester and Postal a few posts earlier. Would have been something for the oldie-lovers too ;-)

There's quite a few games in the catalogue that would fit in this promo. Seems the "disturbed mind" thing is rather popular with gamers. ;-)

Or why for instance are all the modern Batman games set in Arkham instead of Gotham City, a town that was "invented" by the master of mind terror himself?
What lay behind our joint love of shadows and marvels was, no doubt, the ancient,
mouldering, and subtly fearsome town in which we live - witch-cursed, legend-haunted
Arkham, whose huddled, sagging gambrel roofs and crumbling Georgian balustrades
brood out the centuries beside the darkly muttering Miskatonic.
Alright GOG, you squeezed $15 out of me.

Now make your next releases Prey, Wolf 09, Commander Keen and Heretic/Hexen.
They have something like this and no I have no mouth and i must scream.....ROFL

Hear hear!
I just finished Dropsy. Great point and click adventure game with a solid amount of weirdness. It's maybe not for everyone but I'd say its a solid deal at this discounted price.

Smannesman: Well.. it's a horror getting it to work.

NuffCatnip: I´d say so, I like the game a great deal, but I´ll tell you this: aiming and driving can be frustrating at times. :)

Oh yeah, the protagonist is a coffee connoisseur, so he instantly is sympathetic, well in my oppinion at least. :D

Thanks for the info. :)
