If you plan on buying the Creepy Tale Bundle: be careful, once again the bundle is more expensive than buying Creepy Tale and Creepy Tale 2 seperately due to the amazing discount logic in GOG sales :)

Also, don't forget to buy Gibbous ... at 85% off it is a real steal.

I disagree. I bought that game previously in a different GOG sale where it was also 85% off.

Then I got a puzzle where you have to cast a spell using a bunch of books, which was impossible to complete without using an external guide, since there is no reasonable way to figure out the puzzle from just playing the game itself.

That made me regret having bought the game, and it reminded me of why I stopped playing adventure games in the first place (because they almost always feature illogical and unsolvable puzzles without using a guide), and it showed me that even modern adventure games don't bother to fix this problem which has also ruined their ancestor games too.

It really surprises me how many had troubles figuring out the puzzle you are talking about. I figured it out the first try even by not using the inbuilt help (which you forgot to mention) without any problems at all. So yes, let's agree to disagree since it is absolutely possible to solve all the puzzles inside the game without any external help. In fact the game is on the easier side for everybody who is used to point and click adventures and is meant to be enjoyed and not to get stuck ... hence the ingame hints - again.

For those of us who've been querying the recent sales in which the Xuan-Yuan Sword VII artbook was discounted but not the actual game--in this sale they both are. :-)
