Bend the elements, break your enemies.

Magic is often messy and unpredictable but also quite spectacular. To understand how it works you need to observe or -better yet- wield it raw, (Hog)warts and all. Luckily, there are plenty of games this weekend that let you do just that.

Wizard of Legend, Nine Parchments, Mages of Mystralia, Trine, and Megamagic: Wizards of the Neon Age are pretty self-explanatory. But there's also magic to be found in Celestian Tales: Old North, Shadowrun: Returns, Hammerwatch, The Age of Decadence, even King of Dragon Pass.

Just need to know where to look, dear apprentice.

The Weekend Sale ends February 4th, 11 PM UTC.

Age of Decadence and Dungeon Rats have magic? hmmm....

The way AoD sucks you into it's world and then tries to kill you in every corner is quite magical i'd say. ;) Excellent cRPG. Also, i'd recommend King of Dragon Pass, JULIA and Shadowrun Returns. And you can't go wrong with Shadowgrounds either, especially at this price.

There's also STASIS in the other sale which is a masterpiece of atmospheric scifi horror. Can't recommend it enough. Cheers!

AoD kind of has like "technomagic" - I never found out much about it because I went with sort of a "talkie fightie" guy.

But I guess if you go with one of the research classes (I forget what one of them is called) you can explore a lot more of the "weird" stuff in the game. I found whole maps where my guy was basically like "Yup, that's a thing" - and had NO CLUE there were huge questlines associated with them if you had a guy that was focused on archeology / research / whatever.

Do you know if Shadowgrounds can be played with XInput gamepads? (On the game page I can see that controllers are supported, but to be honest I tried to play it a few years ago with my XBOX360 gamepad but could not get it... quite right - I can't remember what the exact problem was).
I still want to play this game, but nowadays I won't even bother to play any action game with keyboard / mouse input. Gamepad all the way :)
So, how is Celestian? It has such a great discount.
Are the other parts of the story in the works?

Not sure about that, sorry. I played it with KB&M. Maybe your problem was that you couldn't get the triggers to work? I guess you could get it to work with a third-party controller remapping application (can't recommend any). Or just invest in a low budget DInput gamepad for use with those older games.

I believe the 2nd part is late beta, but the last updates are for backers only.
