Nothing works for me, either. No way to click the game to get to the gamecard. In fact, I thought I would be "smart" and go ahead and put all the games in my Cart, then visit the cart, and click on the games there. THAT doesn't work either!

Unfortunately (for both me and GOG)... the games I was going to click on aren't that "interesting" to me, based on the title alone... I just wanted to see if "judging a game by its cover, or title" was still a mistake. In other words, I can't be bothered to type in the name and do a hard search on each and every title just to find out I was right... I still don't want it. I'll check later this weekend to see if they fixed it.

GOG Count me into the group who would LOVE it if we are able to click on the left to open the game page. WTF, when someone see's the list, naturally they would want to check the game out if they werent aware of what it is all about but nowhere on the promo page now is there a link to do that nice and quick

Well, this sucks. I just upgraded Firefox to the latest 35.0.1, and now I can't even Remove a game from my cart. However, this is restricted ONLY to this weekend's Strategic promo.

If I click on the Sword of the Stars promo, it works well! When I hover over a SotS game, I see a popup on the right with all the game details, and I can click on the title on the right to go to that game page.

But the Strategic Promo page is just hosed. Hovering doesn't produce anything at all... hold on...

THEY JUST FIXED IT! I didn't change anything, but in the past few minutes I can now hover over a game, see the details on the right, and clickthru to the game page. Another possibility is... they didn't fix it, but somehow going to the Sword of the Stars promo FIRST caused something to work on the Strategic Promo? Give it a try and see.

UPDATE: NOT FIXED

I just logged out, and back in. Still broken. And in fact, not even the Sword of the Stars page works. I wonder if it's Adobe Flash related? I just had to install new Flash. Of course, I also had to install new flash YESTERDAY. So is this going to be a daily ordeal?

I don't know if GOG is actively "twiddling" with the promo page, or if something external to that page is interfering. But now I can hover over the game and see the "extra detail" on the right. This ability seems to come and go and is really flaky today. I'd like to hope they're working on the site even now. Just don't break it any further...

For those like me having the problem of the page jumping as soon as your mouse goes over one of the games, it is NOT fixed, nor does going to the Sword of the Stars promo first help, as the same issue appears on that page.

Just putting this here in case anyone with this particular issue saw the post I replied to and had hopes their issue is fixed. It isn't.

I can't open all game pages to separate tabs at once now. That sure is an improvement....I guess. o_O (it isn't)

I love it how the usability of the GOG site improves with every new rollout. Since the last change of the promo pages not too long ago I cannot copy & paste the game prices from the list anymore. Now I cannot even open the game cards from the promo page anymore. Well done GOG, thank you! It's amazing how you can cram more and more javascript into your pages to stress my CPU and slow down the pages while providing even fewer and fewer useful functionality.

There's a green button at the top of the promo page you might want to optimize away too ...

The product details don't update when my browser is roughly 850 pixels wide or less. That is, the mouseovers no longer do anything.

Right! Don't use stupid HTML links. That's too easy, they would work everywhere and you wouldn't have the joy to add workarounds for different devices. It has to be something dynamic, frequently polling, CPU burning, not a simple, user friendly and working solution.

And when you want to open all the game cards in the promo it's much easier to hover over one title, wait until the reviews on the right side appear, move to the right side, click on the link there, move back to the left side, hover over the next game, move to the right side ... instead of simply clicking once on every game in the list as it was before?

Where are the quotes from anyway ? The ones on the right when you hover the name of the game ?

I mean, I take Shattered Heaven (few reviews, easy one). On the promo page, I see three 5* and two 4*. On the game page, two 5*, one 4* and a bunch of lower notes. the names from the promo page aren't there.

Selecting the "best" notes, even if not the most "helpful", not great already, but are they inventing reviews now - or am I blind or paranoid ?

I think they're supposed to be the titles of the submitted reviews that they're cherry-picking, though I don't seem to fully understand the algorithm that they're using for their selection. For O.R.B., they picked a one-line review that was one of the oldest (and rated least useful) for the game...that was actually bashing it for not being Homeworld (even though perplexingly, the reviewer gave O.R.B. four stars). Critically, it's missing a three-star review that's far more useful to me than the "It's really good, the graphics and setting are nice!" five-star reviews.

I have to say, this really, really, really disappoints me. The new UI for the promo page annoys me enough, but now you're cherry-picking reviews to give false portrayals of games. That's downright shady behaviour for a storefront, and I expect better out of GOG. If you're going to do this, why not pick the five reviews that have been marked as the most helpful by users, or the five most recent reviews?

I tried to confirm this on my own setup (Mac OS X 10.10.2, Firefox 36.0b5) by narrowing my browser window, and that is indeed the case. I also tried viewing the page on my cheapo Android tablet (Android Kit Kat 4.4.2, 1024 x 600 display) and I got the same results: no product details panel appears when you mouseover or select a game in the promo list.

I appreciate the sentiment behind the new promo list format, but the design clearly isn't working here.

Nice finding! Indeed, the top two "selected" reviews for Shattered Haven shown to me on the promo page are not listed on the game card (from ashout and orbithike). And coincidently they are positive reviews. ;)

Would be nice to hear some statement from GOG how these reviews are selected. It makes the current change of the promo page not only annoying but also worthless at best.

Well, when I discovered this change I thought you had taken the link to the game pages completely away from the promo page, as I could not find any link to the games anymore. I was quite disappointed since I assumed that you had done this intentionally to keep bad reviews and other details away from potential buyers. I have always felt that GOG has been a lighthouse of honesty and fairness in a sea of crooks and tricksters, so I was quite disappointment with this change. After reading this forum thread I discovered that there is actually a link on the right side when you click on the game. While much better, it still feels like the game section is hidden away, while the new top review section takes the spotlight.

I will assume that this was just an oversight and that GOG still has the same high standard that they always had.
