Let the classic ones in: 80% off the entire Square Enix collection, or 60% off individual games, including Deus Ex™ GOTY, Tomb Raider, Thief™ GOLD, and more!

It is said that in order to fully appreciate the contemporary masterpieces an industry has to offer, you must first familiarize yourself with the giants on whose shoulders they are standing. Square Enix is home to many of these giants, standing tall and defiant against the ravages of time. But perhaps you've felt daunted by their ancient ways, or you were afraid that modern visuals have spoiled you beyond redemption. Today, these paragons of gaming are extending their hands and lowering their prices so that you can look them in the eye and invite them to join your collection. Or perhaps help build one from the ground up.

Still considered as gaming's single unbeatable classic by many, Deus Ex™ GOTY offers an insightful debate on humanity's self-destructive urge for progress wrapped inside flawless RPG/FPS mechanics, unmistakable cyberpunk aesthetics, and an unprecedented sense of freedom.

Coming from a time where vampires still dwelled in darkness, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver features one of gaming's most visually distinct protagonists, a truly menacing ans complex antagonist, plus plenty of exciting action/platforming to get the blood pumping. Or flowing.

You can't mention a stealth game without drawing comparisons to Thief™ Gold. Its elaborate steampunk setting and seminal use of shadows make playing as Garrett an unforgettable experience, filled with diverse gameplay and subtle horror.

It is a gathering of true gaming giants: Anachronox, Startopia, Tomb Raider 1+2+3, Hitman 3: Contracts - all the Square Enix classics are here, dressed for the occasion in their 60/80% discounts. Don't keep them waiting, it's unbecoming.
The promo will last until September 20, 3:59 AM UTC.

Loger13:
Unfortunately even if I use a search and filter (and "brain") that won't catch the New and Notable titles, only the on sale items. It's also somewhat inelegant. I don't want to have to keep another bookmark, or recreate the filter each time I get a GOG e-mail. I just want the e-mail itself to be more useful.

The idea of OS compatibility icons has sufficient merit that they are used literally all over GOG.com like the main page and search results ... so why not have just them in the e-mail as well?

It would be an easy, one-step change for them to do, and it would benefit all their Mac and Linux customers on the mailing list without the customers having to do anything.

ikrananka: So there are 12 games in this promo that I don't own and it'll cost me $15.04 to buy them. Now that sounds like a good deal until I consider the absolute dross that many of the remaining 12 are. The reviews of virtually all of them are terrible. The only one that appeals to me is Gangsters : Organized Crime but with the single game discount of 60% I'll pass until a better sale comes along.

Of the remaining games are there really any that are worth playing?

- Revenant
- Startopia
- Omikron: The Nomad Soul
- Gex
- Total Overdose
- Daikatana
- Pandemonium!
- Pandemonium 2
- Urban Chaos
- Conflict: Desert Storm
- Deathtrap Dungeon

Monicheti: It depends a lot on your taste and also, given that they're old games, on your memories. :)
Myself I'd recommend Revenant and Startopia. Maybe Omikron too.
Organized Crime, Revenant, Startopia and Omikron were great.

I haven't played the others so I can't say. Although I am considering getting Urban Chaos and Desert Storm.
Platformers have never been my thing though, apart from Earthworm Jim and Oddworld.

Ya know, originally Warren Spector didn't like the theme song but he changed his mind when he kept humming it at lunch. So if he wasn't totally awesome it wouldn't have been that way, and we wouldn't have had the most spectacular theme song to the greatest game of all time.

So there you have it. Interesting, I know.

I know Deathtrap Dungeon by (in)fame. It's an awful game that was licenced from the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series. Of the book it brings the title only. The sexy cover art helped to sell some copies of that mess. I remember that from the magazines :P
Besides, I already have this huge Windows backlog and I don't know when I am ever gonna play it now that I have Linux running on both desktop and laptop. I'd rather buy a proper port than try Wine and hope nothing crashes. I'd kinda like to play Pandemonium! because I liked the demo many years ago but I could not find a box anywhere. But I'm not paying 36 € for other 27 Windows only games that will probably never run on my machines, for the sake of saying "I own them". Not a single Linux port. I pass this time too.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll check those games out more closely and add them to the wishlist if I like any of them. Quite happy to wait for a better discount should one appear in the future. Just not willing to pay more to get them all and be landed with a bunch of dire games for the privilege of it.
Looks like I own them all.
This promotion was announced at the same time I got an email from Square-ENIX Support saying this little problem will be resolved soon.

For a brief moment I thought this couldn't be a coincidence. For a brief beautiful moment I thought Square-ENIX was going to release more of their back catalogue.

I hate moments like that!

Emailed Square-ENIX support to voice my disappointment.
every times I see a deus ex 1 img I need to reinstall it.... Why I cannot hide? Why I cannot escape?
I need to play it bye
