60% off Descent, Freespace, MDK, Earthworm Jim, Giants: Citizen Kabuto and more!

Knees weak, arms are heavy. There's discounts on our website already, mom's spaghetti. This weekend things get nervous and serious as a catalog containing some of our greatest classics levels up, and gets really, really TENSE. It's discounts at a flat 60% off, complete with a fresh batch of bonus goodies to complement your games! [interplay intensifies]

We loove giving you more bang for your buck, and we love going the extra mile just for a chance to see all the various goodies and materials that make up gaming history. Among today's games on promo you can find the following goodness:

--Battle Chess 1 + 2 get manuals and a reference card! While the game in DOSBox does have an online manual of sorts, this PDF of the original manual is much nicer to look at and gives a better feel for the original game. The reference card provides players with some basic tips that are not found in the manual that delve deeper into how the game works. All in pristine condition that gives players all of the necessary information required to master the game.
--Die By The Sword Cuss Pack is an official Interplay patch of sorts that adds expletives to the main character's sound files making for a more visceral dying experience.
--The MDK "Making of" booklet (donated by user lmfsilva, thanks!) gives a detailed background into the company known as Shiny Entertainment, along with some details about the creation of the first MDK title.
--Redneck Rampage gets the Rides Again manual (donated by Foxhack!) - a manual with additional information on the expansion for Redneck Rampage.
--And finally, there is the Stonekeep Thera Awakening Novella: An important piece of history that is quite heavily referenced to inside the actual game. While it is possible to complete the game without this novella, the experience without it is simply not the same. You can also read the whole thing in German, thanks to the generous Kilmex.

[interplay intensifies] with tons of new bonus goodies for some of the greatest Interplay hits ever, including more classics like the Descent series, Earthworm Jim, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, and more! Everything on sale until Tuesday, June 2, 3:59 AM GMT.

Earthworm Jim 1+2 isn't FPS, racer, or 3D. Or you don't want platformers?

guppy44: Looks like I registered 1 month after this. What was the deal, if I may ask? Although it'll probably just make me sad. :p
avatar
Grargar: I think he confused November 2012 with November 2013. He's talking about the deal that RadonGOG posted above; $35 for 32 Interplay games (including the now-removed Fallout ones, but not Screamer 2, Subwar 2050 and all the Interplay games that have been released this year, obviously).
That makes sense. Wish I knew about GOG back in 2012. I would drop $2.99 on every title like it's going out of style. :)
What's up with the Evolva requirements? Under "works on" it says XP, Vista, & 8 (no 7). Under "minimum system req" is lists only XP & Vista. The systems I plan to have running into the future are, of course, 7 & 10. :)
I'm glad we getting even more Interplay games.

i can play some platformers not all

its hard to explain motionsickness and photosensitivity

paralaxscrolling is a big nonbo , old 8 bit games aswell, flashy games also, in the past i did not know why i felt nausiating and all that, now that i dont play those flashy old 8 bits with crappy noise sounds, its far less.
I mainly play casual games preferably ones withouth lightning effects, snow and rain is fine, lightning is not.
Thats why i asked xulima if they could add a option in the game or config files to switch the lightning (at the part where the mad pricnes resides) off.
Lucky for me few users on steam asked for on/off swithces for the weathers, so it was included in 1.6 or 1.7.
It works and now i can start to finish the game , its a good game , i saw 1 screenshot in pcgameplay (dutch /belgian magazine)
and it looked like i could play it, i searched on gog but the game would come in a while, so i searched steam and voila these had the game already so thats the 1 time i bought a game on steam for listprice , i got the DLX version.
as soon as gog got it i bought abother copye DLX, and now i saw a retail: and i ordered it (its heavily delayed almost 5 weeks now) but it might arrive in 3 weeks so i hope it will.
Its drm free has a paper manual and map and cd game ofcourse thats worth 33 oe 36 euros to me.
So i spend like 80 or 85 euros on 1 game, that means that i am impressed by the game.

Nowadays good games that i can play without getting sick (motion/flashes etc etc) are so small
that these guys deserve credit i hope a v2 version will stay same and no 3d or irri voices like in SUBJECT 13
i watched the vids on youtube and its rotating zooming up down, and a robotic voice, i am also sensitive for weird sounds (yes i know i have the whole package).
So that why people might think i nag about games , but maybe now they know why i must carefully pick my games.

If a game is 2 euros and it has some bad sounds in it i ignore it, but at 20 euros or 42 thats a waste of cash.
high rated
Wait, what?

I sent that manual to you guys back in November 2012! o_O

Soon™ is never as soon as you expect.
definitely getting screamer, shogo and shattered steel. not sure about the rest. probably think it over the weekend.

mdk plays more like platformer and i'm bad at that. earthworm jim , likewise. had fun memories of the EWJ 3 as a teen, but it's too hard for me, and i've never beaten it. Die By The Sword sounds like it was designed more for multiplayer. Stonekeep sounds like something i would hate as much as lands of lore or TES: arena. i remember reading the bigbox version of Citizen Kabuto back in the day. it sounded somewhat innovative with its 3 distinct styles of gameplay. but it doesn't work well with intergrated graphics chips. Battle Chess 1 + 2 ? didn't even know it was on gog.com. i don't see the point. there's free chess programs on websites, and several downloadable freeware one's floating around, like starwars chess for example.

games can give motion sickness? that's new to me. i get motion sickness sometimes but never in games or simulators that actually simulate real-life rocking motions. i've spent hours in a driving simulator before, but only real buses and ships can make me feel sick.

Nothing from my wishlist I'm afraid. I wonder though, is Kingdom: The Far Reaches really that bad?

IAmSinistar: Hmm, probably time to finally put Battle Chess on my shelf, as well as finish my Jagged Alliance collection here.
Probably a good idea. Even if we happened to get a better deal in a fortcoming sale, the difference couldn't anyway be more than a few cents . As for me, I already have what I want from that list.
Good Promo ^_^

tfishell: Very cool with the extra goodies, thanks! :)

I'm curious about the possibility of things like Castles 1 & 2 original floppy, Descent 1 & 2 Definitive, etc. http://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_games_missing_expansions_importantdefinitive_versions_and_informative_bonus_content/post2
Yeah, I'd love to have Descent 2: Vertigo and the complete Mac/PS1 soundtracks for Descent 1 (the one they have right now is missing the Ogre tracks, which were specifically written for the game, so they shouldn't be as hard to license as stuff from his album releases?).
