Which games are keeping you company this weekend?

You must stay hidden.
The shadows are your most loyal friends: always there when you need them, always eager to consume your enemies on your behalf. Silence is your cruel mistress: caring and protective when you keep on her good side, deadly and vindictive when you disrespect her.
But what of your enemies? They are the ones who'll teach you, help you learn from your mistakes, and only succumb when you're finally ready to outsmart and outmanoeuvre them.
For in the best stealth games, the greatest challenge is to be patient, plan your every move, and wait for the right moment to strike. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is one such game, according to RockPaperShotgun, Kotaku, NZGamer, and pretty much everyone else.
Do you guys have any other personal favorites, when it comes to sneaky games? Let's hear them!

Surely you've got some gaming planned for this weekend, too. Perhaps you picked up some cool game(s) during our Monstrous Winter Sale that you're looking forward to firing up. Or are you still browsing, trying to make up your mind on what to get before all these sweet deals go away? Go on, share your Weekend Playlist with us. It can include single-player games, multiplayer games, console exclusives, anything - we are not judging. In fact, we are sharing too!

So, amiGOGs, what are you playing this weekend?
Best stealth game ... definitely the Commandos games. I prefer the isomteric view in stealth games.
The Men of War games also have plenty of stealth in them, I really liked those missions.

I also liked the newish game 'Styx', as a Fantasy stealth game it has a quirky take on stealth.

Been playing Shadow Warrior 2. Been dishing out a brutal hacking and shooting of hideous demons!! They really wanted some Wang.
Oh, and Lo Wang can crouch if he so desires, so I guess that counts as stealthy..? Oh wait, he has Invisibility ability. He can approach fiends unseen, then unleash loud and violent destruction!!!

No One Lives Forever 1 + 2.

Sneaky, brilliant humor, and if you are fed up with sneaking you can switch ti killing all the evil baddies - at least in most levels. And Cate Archer is simply irresistible.

What a pity that those games are not on GOG or anywhere else as digital download. Glad to have the disks.
The stealth genre has some very good games, but I think that we still haven't seen the best it can offer. In my opinion, the best ones are Thief (the 2014 version), Thief 2 and Styx: Master of Shadows. From them, I choose Thief as the best of the best. Thief 2 is great in the middle, but is rather boring in the beginning and in the end in my opinion. Styx has very nice environment, but suffers from the same problems in the end as Thief 2(ie. replaying old levels).

If you have played all those games and still want some more, I recommend you playing as a rogue in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. It is a lot of fun. Also Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is good. Although I don' think it falls under the stealth genre, you still have to sneak a lot in the missions in order to survive.

As for my weekend playlist, I play Legend of Eisenwald. Seems pretty solid game to me.

MadyNora: My favourite stealth game is Dishonored :)
I replayed it so many times, that I could basically ghost my way through the game backwards with my eyes closed...

Wanted to play Dishonored 2 this weekend, but my PC died -_-

maladr0Id: Damn, sorry to hear that, mate :/

If it's any consolation, when you get your PC back in working order, you're in for a treat. I may not be as impressed as some people, but I'm definitely enjoying my time with Dishonored 2. I'm about halfway through (I think) and there's a lot to love in there.
I was about halfway as well. Finished the Clockwork Mansion before my PC went silent :(
I played with most interface elements turned off. No quest/target/heart/black-market markers. Not even journal updates. I wanted my knowledge to be limited to only what Emily can hear and see, and it was amazing. Probably the best way to play the game, especially on 1st playthrough :D
I'm trying to play a sneaky pacifist, but I'm not reloading the game if I screw up. I want my first playthrough to be "the way it just happened".
Can't wait to get my PC back, and continue.

Tallima: I'm finishing Witcher 2 tonight. I'm reading the last wish. And I bought Witcher 3 complete so I can get started right away.
Having read all Witcher books except for the newest, I envy you for the ride I have already behind me. Have fun!

guar: Arx, and subsequently, Dark Messiah, are big reasons why I became an Arkane fan.

You should listen to your friend: if Dishonored ever gets a DRM-free release, you should seriously consider picking it up.
Thanks, I will do that. A game that can be finished without killing anyone is my kind of challenge.

Dark Messiah is another all-time favourite of mine, which to my shame I also didn't finish back then, but plan to do so in the near future. Alas, I didn't manage to get my ancient DVD version to work under Linux with Wine, I hope it will run on the Windows 7 I keep for these occasions.

edit: DVD, not CD. It's not that old. ;)

Then I hope you didn't just miss the release of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun with 10% launch discount until yesterday?

Oh I haven't missed it, I've even played the demo a few times. However I want to finish my current game before I buy it.
Wars of Napoleon. Trying to actually finish a 1805 grand campaign (British). Even being run by the AI, the French are taking Austria to the mat. Napoleon and his corps commanders are just ruthless mad dog killers.

I think it's time I considered buying some real estate in Northern France. Like my ex gf used to say, 'just because the front door's closed doesn't mean the back door isn't open for business.' Know what I mean, chaps?

I just found Dishonored among the community wishlists. :)
